I think photomontage is artwork when it has a message behind it.

By your words this isn't original because they are using someone else creation:

And, updated to this point, Grim, I fixed it, thanks for bringing it to my attention !

You can't define ART with a phrase from a dictionary.
And you can't define Originality with a phrase from a dictionary.

So yeah, my entry won't be considered unique work, but maybe it'll still win your personal favorite from the rest.

It is a mosaic of the Path of Exile logo made from a collection of all the screenshots, avatars, and other images from the Path of Exile website.

P.S. The GGG team is welcome to this file, no strings attached. I can generate an even bigger one (with many more tiles and image quality) if you'd like something like this to hang in your offices :)

Simple way of telling if your art is original:

If you printed out your pictures, or wanted to sell your artwork, would you be able to sell it, without having to get the permission of someone else.

Utilizing Pictures/Photos from this web site in your artwork, would require you to seek permission from GGG, or pay them for the rights to utilize their art.

I know some of you are upset at this, but you have to think, if someone creates something from scratch, how can it be compared to someone taking Paid Artist's work, and recoloring it, adding some text?

It's not fair.


Of course, sketching the Path of Exile logo, in your own drawing is acceptable in a PoE Themed Fan art.

If you have questions, take a look at Blizzard's Fan Art section, and you will see that what I am saying is not me being unfair, it is what Fan Art is.

Spend around 6 h. GIMP.

Computer art and design has much much wider variety so i think that the rules for that section shouldn't be so strict.
But there are bigger problems in the world than my few wasted hours doing picture for contest. (But i won't lie that i am not dissapointed)
