GGG, why did you change spectre corpse summoning with desecrate?

It worked differently
even people that joined your hideout had their corpses added to your hideout desecrate


Just as well I'm using easy to get specters, I'd be pretty pissed if I lost something that had taken a age to get.


Syndicate Ops nerf maybe
I stopped playing summoner because even with desecrate spawning I found them painfully annoying to summon every time they died. That change was unnecessary and uncalled for.

part of me wonders if they want us to invest more in minion defenses to ensure our powerful support specters survive.

But the majority of me is a big proponent of the concept that you should NEVER balance power using convenience (or inconvenience).

Its why I hate the charm system in diablo 2, yeah its cool you get all this power but now you have to portal out every 5 seconds like your inventory has bladder issues
Now it's worse then ever. Before, if all spectres were dying in a map or in a boss fight, we could return to HO to re-summon them (area was still "remembering" them). Now once we left the hideout, they are gone for good. And good luck re-summoning them in Sirus or Shaper area, where there are 1000 types of corpses for some reason.

Bonus, if you use these items, like me, re-summoning is even more painful
(nearby corpses are consumed every 5 seconds)

Is this change actually documented anywhere? I've looked but couldn't find anything but maybe I'm missing the correct language.

It's nowhere that I could see in 3.16. It could either be a bug or an undocumented patch, similar to how there's no mention of spectres no longer needing Lifetap support anymore which also got implemented this league.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

I don't know the exact details, but from what I do understand, lifetap is no longer needed. If I had to guess, spectres got more mana or their abilities no longer use it.
