[gamebreaking] HUGE lags in random maps (into d/c's) [COMPILATION]
I don't know if it's the same problem as everyone else but I noticed my latency spikes "triangles to infinity" happens in specific areas of maps, and if I manage to clear that area despite the lag (going around it pulling monsters out until 0 left) and slowly go in, it would sometimes resolve the problem.
It's like if some specific texture stream were incompatible with fights. In at least one other case the problem didnt go away. Walking in the laggy room would take my latency to the sky, walking out would take it back to normal. Asked a friend to come he has no problem. Maybe my game can't load a specific texture and keep trying in a infernal try-again download loop ? Food for thoughts... |

" Hi Henry_GGG... We worked with Octavian on stream for many hours yesterday trying every possible configuration. I am a Senior Network Engineer working in the Service Provider market with 30 years experience. He tested with a different ISP... same result. This is not ISP specific. It seems to be a TCP flow/session issue. He does not drop his session, it "feels" like a TCP Window is waiting for acknowledgement, and when it finally is received, then the session catches up. Possibly a TCP out of order issue. I would really suggest your network code team work with Octavian if he is willing. The problem is easy to reproduce and he has familiarity with GGG staff. |

Lagging even worse than usual tonight (didn't think that was possible). Game completely unplayable so have logged out.

last 3 or 4 days i simply can't play
usually this ping shit happened during evenings and rarely through the day. Sometimes i could play whole day until the evening and everything would be ok. now i can't play anytime of the day. in HO i would get spiking ping 100-200 ms. It is not a problem and it is playable for me. However 1 or 2 pack of monsters later, any map, any instance, ping goes up to 20k. Sometimes it goes up and down, sometimes it stays there. I write in guild chat and i have to wait like 10 secs or maybe even 30 until it posts (i didn't count, so could be even more). In H\O it is immediate. Also getting random high lag spikes into the 30k ms amounts.
Extremely annoying and hard to fix. Im currently using exitlag to try help the problem but it hasn't fully worked for me. I am able to find out that my ping to PoE servers doesnt soar outside of the game even while its soaring in game. There must be some sort of packet blocking or prioritization issues. PoE is the only game where I've always had endless annying as fuck lag issues. It honestly sort of feels like the game can start off ok then all of a sudden some sort of switch is flicked and the game is like "yo stop sending so much info at once, fuck you, imma put you on low priority now". |

Experiencing exactly the same issue in my hideout at the moment, instance IP 91.206.197.77, ran 3 maps prior to that without any lag.

Could anyone post an MTR log he recorded while the actual issue was happening? Preferably multiple times and for more than just 500 packets?
The one in the OP seems to not have done that and just exposes other, non related ISP issues that shouldn't cause what I see in Octavian's video. Thanks! Perception is reality.

in my case, im just change my dns to something else other google dns and cloudflare dns, somehow, if i use these, it make game complete unplayable, but after change to some dns other than those dns in my country (sea), it make my ping stable in 40-50 around 50m and crash, it not much, but honestly its work, anw. if im having spike lag in game, open portal to come back my ho then go in again, some how it make ping stable again, maybe server loss package or dns block some request, idk but blahdns help me alot.
for ggg, please dont just test in your server side, hire some player outside your territory to check problem. |
