petition! delete Sacred Orb and revert back quality vs new variable base defences! + more NEW scams

Since I was quoted and pointed to here, I might as well leave my two cents.

This is the compromise I've come up with:
Keep the orb, keep the idea of armor heterogeneity - it's not that bad of a concept.
BUT, instead of equipment rolling 0-20% bonus defense value, have them roll 10-20%. This is a buff all across the board. Even if the worst 10% drops, it's still pretty solid and there's no real need to go up unless you really want to.
Risk of getting scammed still remains, but even then you wouldn't be losing out on too much money. I imagine that lower difference in rolls will lead to lower price difference as well.

It's a win for casuals who don't want to pay attention to this extra layer of RNG. Players who dedicate more time to the game have another extra way to min/max their build for that sweet dopamine boost.
The only real downside is that possibility of scams still remains, but at least it's mediated. You would lose money, but not too much money.

Later, if GGG decides that 10% inherent bonus is too much, they could simply reduce rolls from 10-20% to 0-10% (or 5-15%). Prices would remain unchanged but it would nerf everything again (community sounds pretty fed up with that though).
Only the dead have seen the end of war.

I'm pretty sure many players won't pay attention to whether some part of the armor is 5-6% base better or what ..

Nobody uses armor crafting in the early stages of the game or low tier maps, more attention is paid to cap resist and buff dps.

This sounds like a tool for end game crafting.

Yea if even the 40/40 playerbase that gets to play more than anyone else and has more than anyone else agrees it's too grindy and bad, GGG/Chris should take a hint that it probably is really really bad and unwanted across the board.

I feel like it's always the 40/40 playerbase that complains about grind. They somehow think there is a goal to this game, and that that goal needs to be reachable within the timeframe of a league for everyone that puts enough effort into it. Perhaps some people take the game too serious, confuse it with some sort of job.

delete the sacred orb idea
+1 Delete the another RNG layer.
And stop wasting your dev time with such ridiculous stuffs.
if theyre going to have this stupid 0-10%, 0-20% nonsense then definitely have the sacred orb, otherwise gear drops are now 95% guaranteed worse than your craft right from the go, before we have even rolled mods on your item the rare item that dropped now has a 95% chance to be shit compared to attempting to craft it...

its so bad, its so so bad why are they doing this to their game? we have quality and now we are adding a second quality thats not the normal quality and you cant change it except now we realise thats fking stupid so were adding an orb to change it and making it super rare so now we have quality thats cheap to change and a second quality thats dumb expensive to change and all this means is just craft your gear which we are really against totally but are making even more neccesary because we had an idea that was a bad idea and are now forcing it into the game along with a shit orb that makes it slightly less bad but still bad because...

because we had the idea and we refuse to rethink things until its too late and its in the game and then you say oh ya, those players who always tell us a thing is bad the moment they hear it and are always right and we are always just accepting that months or years later, woops, turns out they were right, again.

definitely dont delete the sacred orb though if youre adding this stupid second quality nonsense bloat idea that forces serious players to craft their gear. but do see sense and just delete this completely unnecessary bloated abomination of the second quality range, please delete that from the patch before its too late and we are stuck with this nonsense forever.

yeah, it a tool for crafting, for making sure you just dont have rare items showing in your filter at all and you just craft all your rares and never loot rare items in this looter game.

the stupidity of this mechanic... holy crap, i cant believe theyre adding this to the game, what an awful awful idea that is going to plague any efforts to make people care about looting rares forever.

why can ggg never stop adding stuff to the game that should not be added to the game?

why do they keep making all their problems worse all the time and never learn to stop doing this?
You really are so naive and you think GGG will listen to you...

Why this dude is spamming everywhere this thread? just came here to ask.

They obviously have an ulterior motive, everybody who uses the "won't somebody think of the new players" arguement does.
"You want it to be one way, but it's the other way"
Yeah! I don't want cool and interesting stuff to drop either!

All I want is boring baseline items, preferably white or with really bad rolls! That is so much more fun than dropping a good quality base to craft on.

The lack of interesting drops is one of PoE's biggest problems. At least now if a well rolled base drops you have actually found something interesting, useful and valuable.

The issue is that item variance introduces an ENORMOUS disparity in the value of many unique items, and unless the variance is a clearly stated property that can be read directly off of the item in mouseover that disparity can be impossible to identify at a glance. If I intended to design a system specifically for the purpose of facilitating and enabling scammers, I could not have done a better job than this.

we already had that situation with hybrid affixes being hidden and summed up with other values.

at that ancient time, we called it "players having expertise and ingame knowledge will profit from the market the most".

now it's omg, scammers will rob newbs. as if newbs will be able to farm t15 influenced maps for those items.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
