Ironically D2R is having launch issues, much like PoE does.
This is 2021 for you.

Surprise!

Yeh, a lil.
But still you can play it solo.

You're delusional. D2R is pure nostalgia. Graphic is suprisingly good for a 20 years + game but thats it. As a game and its mechanics it's a 20 years + game and it hurts.

Clunky movement, clunky mobs targeting, clunky object ineractions, weird mobsa distance targeting you, dumb companions (if someone says minions in POE have bad Ai try D2R), dumb and irritating flask system, hard to trade, legendary story is soo cliche, only 1 respec per difficulty. It's just old game with new graphics. And that is all.

I bought cause never played D2 back in the days. I regret 40 EUR, tried to refund but couldn't. I get it in 2000 D2 was smth big, now it's just old classic that looks better in memories than in real life. After POE or tbh any modern arpg i can't imagine anyone playing D2R more than 4 acts or max 3 difficulty levels.

I expect PoE players dabbling in D2R right now will have plenty of time to enjoy what it has to offer and still be back in time to play PoE's next league. =^[.]^=

People are already complaining about day 1 launch issues, rollbacks, character deletions, servers not working... not surprising for Blizzard, but then they're complaining about the clunkiness of the game, and begging Blizzard for 'modern' updates, forgetting Diablo 2 is an old game.

What competition does PoE have again? Nothing. Any advertising to the ARPG genre will bring more people here, one way or another. and the PoE's women don't look like men

Let's see. After 8 years POE still has server crashes, lag, FPS drop, bad graphic engine, bad trading system, bad loot drops and bad casino style crafting. I don't think that D2R is worst than POE. Probably D2R will have player income from POE.
Yesterday POE had only 482 viewers on Twitch.

Yeah, tho 3.16 promises to be even more boring than 3.15 so far.
Dunno about league tho, but hopes are low alrdy.

We already have 3.14 and 3.15 experience: https://imgur.com/4PUZtnK

Well, you have 36 challenges, including the 10k map tiers done, so you still find the game somewhat fun, right? Or did all those maps feel like burning your paw? If so, then aren't you the meme, not the cat? :P

On topic: D2R will give some players a much needed break. It should be a solid, romantic experience. But as many others, I don't see how it will hold on to a lot of players over time. Most people playing D2R, have already done most things worth doing in D2, and some fresh paint can't reset that, right?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I mean sure, I think there is room in the world for both PoE and D2R.

I wont be playing both, but I think its reasonable people will supplement some of their PoE time to D2R. Which generally speaking, hurts PoE due to their monetization model.

AFter playing around 8 hours of D2R, I really hope that the GGG devs play some too. There are a decent amount of things they can takeaway I think. Most importantly loot value, and this really odd obsession with click and inventory "weight".

Also I'm very interested in seeing the post launch content on D2R they have been talking about.

Edit: as a side note. The Twitch numbers were far more brutal than I expected. It was like 300,000 to 300. 300?!
