It's not male, it's not female, it's not wearing form-hugging armor and standing there in an almost slightly sex pose. It's just a reaper, menacing and grim.

So boo! Female reapers lol.

I get this feeling that the summon reaper is the minion version of the 'reaper boss' from the expeditions.

Based on what I've seen so far, GGG has a tendency to base their minions to mobs or the other way around

Spawn Reaper #1 and use Reaper #2 to order attacks. Since Reaper is already spawned and limited to a single minion, pressing Reaper #2 wont summon another one but instead count as an attack order for Reaper #1.
Since its only lvl1 and linked to just one gem the mana costs are very low and Second Wind will allow you to bypass Reapers cooldown at least once.

Ofc investment into CDR will still pay off big time.

This was a bug and was fixed on 3.15f.
Actually that bug felt nice for reaper, sadly it got patched :(

Since last patch you can't use second reaper gem anymore to spam his Ultimate.

I appreciate the power of minions but as a rule I do not play them: The screen clutter and inability to see what is really happening bothers me. However a single minion with a few supports I find attractive. Especially if the support vanishes after a fight.

I chose Guardian for the block and curse effect reduction.

I have necromatic aegis and the victorio's charity for power and endurance changes on the minions.

To feed the beastie I decided to link phantasms to her. To help clear I use Absolution. Once I finished act 10 I decided to put the phantasms with Absolution in a 4 link. I also removed multistrike from the Reaper to improve single target and speed up her attack.

What I do not know is what to gear into? What gear improvements should I be looking for.

Regardless of how both Absolution and Reaper are perceived, I enjoy the combo and want to explore it further. Also, I am thinking she would be good as a replacement for totems on melee builds.

Yup, but you can still scale your character's cooldown reduction in other ways to still reduce the waiting time for the reaper; doesn't have to be necessarily directly linked to the gem hoho

Although; I guess I'll add that into the post to make things clearer that you can't link it to second wind on a dif gem slot to spam it further
