[Outdated] Lancing Steel Raider | SoftCore | Not league starter viable anymore

Don't try anything... This build might be ok in endgame, but leveling like mentioned in the guide is just a joke. I never regret picking a build. It's just painful
The first 20 levels were slow, but since I started using Shattering Steel it went better and better, level 42 and crushing game with Lancing Steel atm on a four-link with Lifetap/Pierce/Vicious Projectiles. Pride, Dread Banner, Herald of Purity and Precision1. Stone golem helps with sustain but no trouble on clearing anything so far. First lab was cheese (raider).

It's perfectly fine to lvl through the campaign. 4link and you can do pretty much anything. Right now I am in act8 and still haven't updated my gear for the most part. With shattering steel it's like holding a shotgun. Load your bullets with call of steel and any pack is a joke, incl. the bosses.

Nothing in the build guide about shattering steel tho. Yeah sure i can lvl with a different setup. But the guide recommends switching to lancing steel at lvl 28. And that's just painful at least for me.

True. I don't know about the setup you have in mind, but u can look into my profile / char. The passive nodes are exact the same as the guide of lancing steel. Leckarion however is using another kind of setup because he is/was lvling with 2h wep.

Once I clear the second lab I will try to finish with lancing steel. Maybe there will be some change with skill gems, but we will see.

Heya! Forgot to update the guide today ragarding the issue. I discussed that yestarday here in the comments with other players. Before getting at least chain with Deadeye, you should use another skill. I'm currently using 2-handed weaps with LS for Single target and Splitting Steel for clear.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm using LS with Hatred, Herald of Purity and Herald of Ice for the time being. Will swap to pure phys soon.
Fell in love with PoE and now it's my crack.

I did the campaign in about 12 hours swapping to Lancing Steel as soon as it was available. I am a slow leveler and I did the league mechanic in a majority of the zones. LS is definitely not good for levelling, but it's really not THAT bad. I may have gotten lucky though I bought a 97% use speed Lord of Steel on the first day for 2c. I guess I would not recommend using LS at all if you can't get a good LoS and use Shattering Steel like everyone else is recommending.

I was using Vicious Proj, Chance to Bleed, and Maim for a really long time because I wasn't paying attention and then swapped bleed and maim for Brutality and Impale and it felt better. Pierce would be better for clear but your single target would suffer. I relied on the free chain from Sniper's Mark to deal with AoE and it wasn't too bad. I also went raider because I was lazy and didn't want to swap from deadeye later. I used the phys weapon vendor recipe every couple acts on vendor bought foils because I didn't get a single good weapon to drop the entire campaign.

Currently suffering in white maps right now as I try to get currency for upgrades. I'm sure it'll feel better with investment, so I'm sticking with it!

Good luck and thanks for the guide.

Heya! Try getting a The Nomad belt and a Lioney's vision 6-link body armour. Belt of the deceiver is not that good when using a Tombfist.

Died 15 hours through the campaign. Did the first map and couldn't believe how painful it is. Every boss takes like 2-3 minutes, every pack is tough as nails. Maybe i'm missing something, but that's a really painful experience. I appreciate your suggestion switching to other skills. But that's not part of this guide right? I never arrived at maps and was like "ehm, maybe i quit here..." I hope you guys have fun tho :)
