Development Manifesto: Harvest Crafting

"
This sentiment was summed up by a member of our design team who recently said "We don't want to take away the feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item, scared to see whether you ruined it or not."

Sounds like gambling. Ggwp. At least be honest that you don't want crafting anymore in your game, because gambling ain't crafting.

Stupid decision. You refuse to fix the fact that ALL end game items are crafted. Instead you just make it harder to craft them again. Don't bother fixing the fact that most loot filters filter out 99% of the loot because it is absolutely worthless to pick up. Instead you take away the only viable way to get decent items for people who don't play this game like their life depends on it.

I am sorry Chris, but you have lost your pulse on what players want. You talk about how most people quit before hitting yellow maps, then you have a league where people play into yellow maps, you take away the reason they even played in the first place. I can't believe how absolutely out of touch you are with your own player base and the design of this game.

100% TRUE time not to play to 40/40 and only maybe 1 day on the league start like 60% of people that have a problem with curent sistem
This game needed MORE deterministic crafting, not less. I am not personally excited about these harvest changes at all.

I've been playing this league quite a bit and farming Haewark Hamlet maps for Harvest crafts because it's exciting that there was finally a deterministic way (that *still* has the risk/reward factor you mentioned in the post) without being a way to permanently ruin your item.

Even with Harvest in its current form, I still have not completed several rare items I've been working on in the amount of time this league has been out since I have not used the Harvest discord. The fact is, without the Harvest discord, crafting the perfect item still takes a very long time; often the entire league.

Either introducing a new currency to allow players to store and trade harvest crafts without having to use a discord or disallowing trade of the harvest crafts while improving crafting of other league mechanics in some way would have been a much better way to handle this.

I skipped most of Heist league since it didn't have Harvest crafting and it had fixed a lot of the issues of the game for me. I'm not sure how much I will be playing going forward if/when these unfortunate changes make it live.
Stupid decision
It's obvious at this point that you're just making this game for the 1%.
The only reason many people enjoyed this league was due to the fact that Harvest crafting was back on the menu. Why was it important? Because the people stuck inbetween in 1% and the 80% could actually work to some higher tier items via deterministic ways and not yolo exalting.
Where's the joy in ruining the middle persons possibilities of crafting their own good items without having to buy it from the 1%?
Why make something less valuable but make it more of a common encounter? You don't fix something via lessering its quality and upping it quantity. It's quite the opposite in fact.
Also it makes one wonder why in fact they still have some of the same bugs in Heist as they had in day one, but no news on that being fixed any time soon. One of the lesser enjoyed leagues went core instantly, no questions asked, yet Harvest, one of the more pleasureable leagues, had to be "changed" and "adjusted" so many times that it has become not even a fracture of its former shadow.
Great out of touch decission. Can't wait for the Red Shirt Dude to ask you a few questions.
Thats what you get guys for showing your crafts on reddit...
If you are going to do that, remove Harvest, it's useless.

You have no balls to make account bound.

Ok, guess my time in PoE is over.

@Edit

When my day couldn't get worse.

This is the most stupid decision ever.

You need to get rid of craft trading, but you are stubborn and afraid to make the right decision.

What will be Harvest now? Just rerolls? Why is that better than chaos spam?

Fuck, your crafting system is more of a gambling system. It's all wrong. There's a reason no one was into crafting before Harvest: you simply had no time nor resources to gamble for "perfect" items. It was better to farm and save currency to buy from the few with time and resources to bypass the RNG wall.

And you did make an almost perfect crafting system. But you failed in the most crucial feature: you allowed the trading. Trading is the cancer of PoE.

You had the opportunity to fix that by making crafted items via Harvest and Beasts account bound. After all, what's the point of modifying an item if not for self use?!!?

You DO realize that those perfect mirror tiers items you see are not made by common players. You DO realize that one perfect item nowadays need to pass over 100 different people and accounts to become that perfect. You DO realize that those items cost like 100 exalts, which is far more than a common player can achieve.

In fact you are pissed because Harvest exposed two major flaws you don't want to fix in the game: the trash itemization where 99% of the loot is garbage and filtered AND the crafting system which is gambling. That's why you GGGCent hate Harvest.

Instead of destroying Harvest grow some balls and make items account bound, problem solved. I want to see how many of those perfect items are made w/o TFT and that shit.

LOL so harvest is now garbage and it's back to only the 10hr a day players with 1000s of exalts that are able to make good gear....and the rich become richer.

Well, playing the entire league was fun while it lasted. Now it's back to get 36 and quit after a few weeks.

Good changes.

Sticking to the theme of the game whilst continuing to put interesting crafting tools in players' hands.

Remember, the [Removed by Support] that complain about this change are the minority. Those of us who have been here the whole time are with you.
