Network problems - Troubleshooting

disabling upnp on the router is urgently recommended anyway since home networks get hacked big style by using a security leak most cheap plastic routers have.

edit: for people who like having a more graphical output of their current network connections there is a tool from microsoft (original creator: sysinternals). needs no installation, just run the exe.

http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/sysinternals/bb897437.aspx

sysinternal tools from mark russinovich are the best tools available for everyday easy system analysis. these tools (and games) kept me from mainly using linux at home.

But i dotn have a router, what should i do?
Here is my google.com ping stats.

Packets:

Sent = 4
Received = 4
Loss = 0 <0% loss>

Approximate round trip time in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 37ms
Maximum = 42ms
Average = 38ms

My system and network is clean. I can play other games(D3, TF2)without interruptions at all hours of the day. Only game I cannot play is this one.

Go load up any other game that is always online and see if you desynch and disconnect as much as you do in this game.

The biggest problem I see are the softlayer, who are partly responsible for routing packets to the game servers. I've looked at traces, for all three games servers, for the last few days and I've attached three that are fairly representative. As can be seen, there is increased latency and packet loss on the hops over the networklayer links. Fixing these routes will help...

I have also seen the problem but with the networklayer.com routers.

I just captured this during a large desync which got me killed while fighting Kraityn.

Notice the large loss at po2.fcr01.*.networklayer.com

Edit: The loss at the telenor.net router happened before the large desync.

if you use peerblock make sure to allow the game's ips to your exception list each time you crash. the same with any 3rd party firewall that is prone to blocking the ips.

it can help to repair your nic and reset your card via the batch file commands you can pull from my site:
http://jroe.me/2010/08/various-network-fix-commands-i-run-in-bat-files/

also make sure to update your network card drivers to the latest drivers especially for intel or realtek.
i also have insane packet loss on networkllayter.com 70% in fact
Same. My network is fine, my wife is surfing on different laptop with no issue.

Bg delay at the nextworklayer with packet drops. Don't think it is the game, it is the servers
These numbers seem to be a lot worse in terms of % of packets lost - any ideas as to what is going on?

I was running several rpgs on my comp running perfect then i removed them to make space for this game(mistake obviously).
Is there any specifice person we can post our computer statistics to for options or a possible answer?
These 2-3 second lagspikes would be the main and only reason i would RETIRE from this beautiful creation of a game. If so let me know cause it is continually getting worse throughout the last 3 weeks, and im just about done done.

Please and thank you
I die then I'm reborn, I die then i'm reborn, I die then im reborn, WTF is going on ???
Im currently a 4 day old players here at POE. I have Not had any issues running game until today

Ive been online for about 2 hours now and i have been Disconnected atleast 6 times i will check my end but im sure its not it due too the fact i have played 39 lvls and only have issues in last 2 hours and im running a monster Comp. I believe you all are having some server instability issues on your end you might wanna look into it.

I really dont wanna go back too my other game lol im enjoying this one! HINT
