Hungry loop was not a good idea btw, the loss of stats is not worth the benefits of Scorching Ray.
If you're using glancing blows and need %life when block, below is the actual step of crafting mine. Note that these steps may not be optimal
Bought this base shield, mainly for 15% reserve and life regen, so I could save 2ex on aug life later on getting %life when block (there's only two suffix with life tag)
0. make sure suffix is full (using harvest or pre-rolled like above, otherwise using harvest reforge may brick the item)
1. Wipe prefix using reforge keep suffix, then remove prefix using harvest (e.g. remove defence)
2. bench any-but-not-fire "gain as extra chaos damage" prefix
3. aug fire for %fire damage
4. remove add fire (til good fire damage)
5. aug caster for any +gem level (fill all prefix)
6. remove cold res (free 1 suffix slot for aug % life on block)
7. make sure prefix is full
8. aug life for %life on block
9. remove life regen
10. aug caster (fill all suffix, they can be removed by remove crit or speed later on)
11. remove bench prefix
12. aug life
13. if aug shit life roll, remove +gem level prefix (using remove phy/cold/lightning)
14. bench suffix cannot change (if aug shit life)
15. remove add life (til good life)
16. unbench suffix cannot change
17. remove caster suffix (remove crit or speed)
18. bench any suffix (fill all suffix)
19. aug caster for +1 gem prefix
20. remove add caster til +1 fire gem
21. Now you have an flexible suffix slot for augment anything (chaos/defence etc.) or bench craft
What I am not getting here, is step 9. If you have suffix life % on block AND life regen, how do you remove life regen?
I got to this step (trying to finish suffixes)
I have spent 14 exalts on remove/add life to remove regen and hope to proc life % on block. Yet, it didn't happen.
I can easily aug life and get it, but I see no way to safely remove life regent after....

If you can not keep prefix reroll suffix or reroll prefix keep suffix untargetable mods away then you have to yolo
repeat untill you are happy with the result.
u can also use prefixes can not be changed and suffixes can not be changed for better targeting.

Harvest remove life mod, it's 50/50.
If you removed %life on block then aug life again to get it back

If you're selfcasting it's completely fine, it won't be usefull for clear but it's not like we lack clearspeed.
The block thing depends on how you like to build defense. I dislike any sort of chance based defense, so I always go for big healthpools. but if you prefer block it's obviously still good, especially with a recover shield mod.

Sadly, won't work since I have t1 life suffix.
I have an easy time removing my prefix and then RIP :D
We have a different crafting process so my best advice would be plug your current shield into craft of exile emulator and see what's the next best move. GL on your craft!

So hearing that rare jewels are ftw instead of my 3x eminence setup i bought
Yet they make me lose like 600k dps in pob compared to the 1chaos worth eminence jewels.
Someone can tell me what is up, is this actually true or did i just mess something in POB?
Even my intuition was that these rare will beat uniques in dps, i just thought the pd reduction is too good to give up. Now i do not know what is up and i already invested big exalts in these rare jewels.
