Lacerate is The Best Melee Skill in Path of Exile

Cyclone is. Not just being a strong melee skill by itself but also being so versatile, enabling CoC or CWC builds, but it's mechanically powerful as you are constantly moving as you damage.

Yep. Bonks are probably going to cause all of physical Melee to be dumpstered next league, even skills like Lacerate that don't depend on warcries for damage.

Specifically on a Bleed Lacerate Gladiator.

That is big brain. You are right, though; on Bleed Lacerate Gladiator, Lacerate might be the best skill.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Sweep beats Cyclone in everything but not pressing buttons.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.
Cleave would have a word with you.

Cyclone? far too slow

Bring back original blade flurry please.
It's probably just me being an oddball again but fact of the matter is, both my Lacerate Bleed Gladiator and my Cyclone Slayer are close to the bottom of my preference list both among my melees as well as overall.

Lacerate just feels trashy to play imo. In Sand Stance the damage falls of significantly to the point where it doesn't even oneshot trashmobs on high tier maps with defenseive mods and in Bloodstance the AOE, which isn't even great in Sandstance, is so narrow that it's useless for clear and against bosses, if you want both slashes to hit, you need to stay in their face anyway reducing the usefulness of it's range to zero. It's also awkward that you kinda have to use multistrike for the skill to feel even remotely decent to play but by doing so you are effectively cutting down your dps. I do use my Glad from time to time for tough boss fights like Cortex or Guardians with really nasty mods while leveling my other bosskillers but i wouldn't ever go mapping with him on my own accord, i'd have to force myself to do so. I actually prefered the SST version of the build. Worse for bosses but the clear was god tier.

As for cyclone, i don't know maybe it's the build versions i've tried, but neither my current Ngamahus flame version nor the legacy starforge impale version i used before that felt particularly strong and that was even before the latest nerfs to cyclone. Moving while attacking is nice but the practical difference between manual hit and dodge play and just using cyclone is minor and if i consider clearspeed or single target DPS then most of my other builds leave him in the dust. That being said, since i never really liked playing much with him i also put significantly less effort into the build so that might very well part of the reason why he doesn't feel as good.

Which melee skill would you say tops cyclone then?
Most of them need either multistrike or ancestrall call (or both) to be viable at all.
Cyclone needs neither

I am not saying another skill tops it, i only say i personally prefer other skills. If you asked me which one of my melee builds is my favorite to play, it would be the DS champion. With Tribal Fury + Hunter Gloves + Melee Splash the clear is pretty awesome, much better than my cyclone builds anyway and with VDS Clones the single target is also superior. Again, might just be a matter of my cyclone build being bad but that's what it is for me atm. Not needing Tribal fury/Huntergloves/Melee Splash for clear is ofc an advantage but i have those means available and the endresult beats cyclone. I also don't consider having to swap out melee splash for endgame bosses to be much of a downside as it only takes a second and there are only a handful bosses in the game where i even bother to do it. I don't have comparable means for cyclone to push him further. I guess with significantly higher AOE Cyclone might catch up but i don't really know how i am supposed to scale it that high without gimping damage.

Wut, when has Reave ever been out?

Reave is far better than Lacerate.
Lacerate has better POB damage( with two slashes) but has terrible AOE and is clunky to use.
