I mean what is going to happen to them if they don't meet that time frame?

Honestly knowing how things have been going actually releasing the feature is more likely to cause more damage to their reputation regardless of when it comes out. "Oops we didn't meet a promised timeframe" is super whatever.

Then be quiet if you dont think you can hit your own dates. I mean what is the point to begin with? This thread wouldn't exist at all.

Jesus where the fuck do you work? Can you imagine not being ready for a meeting, skipping a delivery, or just ghosting an appointment?

Is it really ridiculous to expect GGG to do what they say? Or at least tell us they are incompetent.

But I suppose you are right ultimately. What is gonna happen when the date flys by and nobody gives a shit? I guess we just shrug. The bar is so low for this team currently, which is why Chris is stepping in for then next league. It's pretty embarrassing really. I wish they could have some professional pride. PoE has really been a sloppy mess recently.

GGG it is time to hire a new press secretary for your executive branch.

It is my pleasure to recommend 鬼殺乚 for this job. 鬼殺乚 possesses outstanding communication skills and would be a valuable asset to GGG correspondence.

If you have any questions with regards to 鬼殺乚‘s qualifications, please do hot hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

I'm not a manager at GGG, I don't have to care about their deadlines, and I doubt that the estimated window is even a real deadline, it's probably somebody giving a rough estimation and that was used to inform players. Basically the only real thing they're guilty of is wording it poorly, I think.
It appears they should stick to the same communications methods they did for desync. Set low expectations and fix it out of no where unexpectedly.

I would rather they never release this feature, than rush and get it wrong. The current system isn't perfect, but I know my stuff is there when I go into my stash.

At most they should have said it will come when it comes; but I think it better to just release it as a surprise rather than make some famous last words like "worse case scenario...."

I just hope it will be ready before next league.
So at least it would be properly tested by the players.

Worst case scenario would be release alongside a league, imagine people having their items disappeared because of bug at league start...

Haha wow. I know it's a meme that the GGG's QA is bad, but damn...

Decent number of alternate quality gems didn't work on league release, some challenges were bugged, as well as Heist gameplay had number of critical bugs.

So I would like to have a beta test perion for such important feature which could lead to item loss. Last month of league is good for that, at least losing some currency wouldn't hurt as much as on start of league when you still need to complete your build.
most likely it will be introduced in the "final big patch when they put in experimental stuff because no one is playing so it impacts as little players as possible", quit being babies.

Look an armchair expert on SDLC.

Chris’s comment on this reflects precisely the fact that their development cycles have exceeded a large portion of their delivery schedule, eating up any time normally alloted for other stages in their release which includes QA. The quality of the game code does not reflect any single team, rather an overall team effort. Could it be due to poor project management, poor leadership, poor estimates, poor planning, poor coding, or poor testing and support? Absolutely yes to any or all.

On the flipside to your statement, one could argue GGG’s coding is so bad, even though QA identified the issues, Dev is incapable of addressing issues accordingly in a timely manner. Alternatively going farther back, leadership and the inception of league mechanics/requirements were so poorly thoughout and documented, leading to downstream scope creep and timelines in a pressure cooker......

As you can see, one can not single out any one team for the blame. GGG as a whole must improve.

This is a perfect example that its better to not give a hard end date, but say it'll be done ASAP or when its ready.

GGG tried to be transparent, but gave a little too much info. So it ended up biting them in the behind. If it is not done at the end of 3 weeks, it causes drama they could of avoided. And lets be fair, people are looking for any reason to nit pic something GGG messes up on right now.
