The game became straight trash at 3.9 -- a grind of painful proportions. a 5ex budget made you able to 1 shot everything in the game... Now it takes about 20ex for an okay amulet.

If I had one wish it would be for everything to revert. Every single nerf undone, all crafting nerfs reversed. Back when my friends could manage to play, and gearing was 100% optional and for fun.

When meme builds didn't NEED 200-500ex to be mediocre.

The point in a game is to be fun, and the challenge to be "Having even more fun than yesterday", instead PoE went full time work with not even fun anymore, and the challenge now is to competite with peoples which inherited their family fortune, and they are spending it on the gold seller like spilling sand.
I saw a guy having 60.000 Exalts, and he is just 6 months in the game.

Anyway rising the cap level each year and adding a new town which requires this level would be HUGE thing, since You will wanna reach there, be amongst the best.. etc..
It would be like
Player A : "Come with me to town 8"!
Player B : "Wait ! WTF!, I thought that there is 4 towns !"
Player A : "Oh well.. GL noob"..

not like currently:
Player A : "I am selling this used underwear for just 100.000 Mirrors.
Player B : "I got already 20 pieces of them"
Player C : "Global 1 : Time for science with this underwear"
Player D : "*Twitching 11 tabs of these underwears"..

As well I am adding a new proposal : Town bound maps.
- These maps is related to specific town, and they are revealing it's secrets and quests.

Gradually changing the level cap seems at first like a good idea. However a large % of players have NEVER got to 100.

Then they nerfed multimod crafting, added awakened gems... It just gets harder for casual players.

If they did do this then they need to rebalance the XP required for say 70-100.
They could also address exp loss when dying to make it more fun. Base it on levels.

E.g

1-50 0% loss.
51-100 5% loss.
100+ 10% loss.

You would still then need to give something for the top % of players to do. Even if it's something like diablo's GR system. It would have to drop less loot, but perhaps better as it gets harder.
the should limit it to 70 and add "paragon-like" levels after it.

100 is just a number

That's why I am proposing another way of leveling curve.
Let me draw it

something like that..

the point is to leave the current curve, like all the time people will feel like aiming more toward the current lvl 95 than 100, which will make the things much easy from town to town.
And peoples will be really busy and happy doing it.

This redundant idea is so great, that it warrants the mandatory "double or nothing" increase of the required EXP for each level up, "because grinding to infinity is soooo fun".

Just make level 101 require 2 times the level 100 EXP, level 102 should require 4 times the level 100 EXP, have level 103 require 8 times the level 100 EXP and so on with actually no cap regarding last level.

Don't forget to never add content that scales beyond level 100, and remove all the "cool" fast tracking sanctioned cheat ways to "reduce the grind instead of prolonging it" to increase the enjoyment of the grind...

PoE is "meant to be played forever", right???

PoE servers and towns does not works this way, since each instance of the town support up to specific number of peoples.
Therefore LAG is never occuring because of the number of the characters per instance.

WAIT ! Did You just said that playing "maps" is not a grind ?!
Like wait.. I did today 170 maps, and this is totally not a grind a all ?!
Dude - have you ever played PoE for more than 7 minutes ?!
The real grind is the maps, not town-to-town experiance, since it is involving story mode and quests mode, while the maps is the pure manifestation of the grind.
