Will Harvest Become Core Path of Exile Content?

Half the viable builds in Harvest are getting removed from the game with this, and that's before the nerfs that will be removing VD/DD necro and spectres from viability.

Exactly how many "mirror level" items do you think are being generated with Harvest? Go search for all tier 1 rares for any build. 10ex is the minimum cost of entry per gear piece, 30ex+ for near perfect, 60ex+ for perfect. So there are 50 perfect HoT autombomber staffs in existence instead of 1 that gets mirrored 50 times and they "only" cost 120ex. Who does this hurt besides RMTers/Youtubers who run mirror shops?

Do you really think someone spending 500ex rather than 1,500ex for one finished gear set is ruining the gear treadmill? If you want prestige pieces they still exist - synth base crafts or perfect phys weapons or perfect 8L+ helms.

Without 30% more power creep in the upcoming leagues there's absolutely no reason to chase any items at all anymore since everything is eternally worthless compared to Harvest gear. Imagine actually playing something like slams without Harvest crafting being available. Imagine going backwards to 4k alt rolling explode on chests. I hope GGG has a plan for this.

(The garden itself sucks, everyone agrees it sucks and it should go, the crafting should stay.)
Harvest mini game is ok I enjoy building the farm but maintaining it and using it every 3 maps really burns you out and takes you out of the game. I also really dislike the hortistation mechanic.

I really love the crafting and feel far more attached and interested in my items because they have far more of a story and progress to how I got them. The old system isn't that interesting spam chaos into a item for a 1 in 775,862 chance at high es and +1 power change or get cheeky with it and use fossils for a 1 in 145,139 to then have to spend an unreasonable amount of exalts to craft your suffix to just get pissed off and take good enough and leave the item to never grow or change. In harvest you can always be growing your item and it is a process always changing and having your time reflect the quality of your gear. It will be very hard to go back to playing a game where you just woop items and hope something pops up in your price range (which can often never happen for non meta builds).

Also Linking a friend an item and them going oh cool how did you get that and I have this big long story of how it was made going step by step and all the times I had good luck and back luck is fun. At least more fun then linking an item and you say oh I wooped it for a few days got it at this price or oh I just throw a few chaos at this item and got lucky. I have also been talking with far more people because you can bounce ideas off we each other about how to get something in a realistic way instead of theoretical possible outcomes that are not realistically ever going to happen.

Nice common sense prevails.

What does "Harvest will not immediately become a core gameplay mechanic but may be reintroduced in the future." mean to you exactly? Or are you not fond of reading but rather creating your own narrative?

Let us zoom out more. Bring back 32:9, Heist Alt Quality Gems, Gear Enchanting, Prophecy, Metamorph & Crucible. Stop removing content from the game. Stop nerfing everything. Stop making the game slow

You obviously haven't been here on Synthesis, otherwise you would know the answer and what they were saying about Synthesis mechanic and would not asking this ignorant questions.

Really well communicated Bex
Good pyramid, Barbara Minto would be proud of you :)
At laugh at those players who didn't even manage to achieve at least 12 challenges saying "WORST LEAGUE EVER, WE HOPE THIS SHIT DOESN'T GO CORE IN ANY WAY"

I suspect those players didn't even try to engage with the mechanic or do not know how to even craft a simple item. If for them was "too" easy, then show to the rest of us what have you achieved in your short period of time you played the league, easy.

The mechanic itself, as long as you have tons of the right crafts available, is "too" easy. But the fact that you have to grind thousands and thousands of seeds to get the right crafts seems not being counted here.

For those wealthy players who want to remain rich as long poor players stay poor, this is great news. For those who really enjoyed the mechanic with the satisfaction of achieving powerful items all by themselves, not having the mechanic available next league is heartbreaking, I include myself here.

It should be core in a more balanced way, there is no doubt about that. But saying that it must not be integrated into the core system, knowing the RNG fiesta it is every time you have to gamble to craft your items using the traditional crafting system, is something that I just simply laugh about it.

"EVEN NOOBS ACHIEVED GG ITEMS, THIS SHOULDN'T BE A THING", why though? It makes you angry that an average player can manage to craft an OP item without buying your stupid shit? Only you can make those GG items and it must be always like this? Why?

I hope the deterministic crafting system is integrated into the core game sooner rather than later.

Gonna stop you right there bub, been here since early 2013

and I remember Synthesis clearly. The devs themselves said Synthesis was not being added because the crafting in Synthesis was not intuitive and too obtuse. And for that reason, the Synthesizer was removed. Completely different story with Harvest and they are actually literally telling you in the post that it is likely Harvest will be re-introduced in the future, maybe even with 3.12. Nice try though, try more next time I guess.

Glad to see the catering to the top 1% continues league after league. For common folk - this league was probably the best thing that has happened to their experience. They could understand prefix/suffix crafting and tagging in a way that the old crap bench never could.

I hated the learning curve early in this league but once you got a garden going - it was truly a wonderful experience to keep players playing. I think that the big drop off early was because of 1) No tutorial 2) The actual pylon, storage, diffuser tangle that made it too complex for people that only play 1-2 hours a day or less.

I feel like the technical limitations are more likely the weighing factor. You probably don't have a database setup that is designed for bursting read/write like this mechanic introduced.

TL:DR - Sad to see Harvest go - best league that has happened since Abyss because of how it changed the paradigm IMO. You should KEEP deterministic crafting every league from here on out. Even if you have to experiment with varying implementations to access it. PoE without the harvest crafting is like Sirus says, "How boring and small"
Hey, I'd just like to say, as a new player, this was a really enjoyable league to start playing on. I could effectively use a lot of the gear I found, and I didn't have to immensely stress over capping my resistances because harvest crafts could help with that. I haven't even hit really lategame maps yet, but I feel like I'm doing pretty good because I can craft better gear without having to worry about too much RNG or map luck. I'm not really looking forward to this going away, but I understand why and hope it'll come back in a decent form.
