If you can manage your other stats while getting the extra unset ring, sure!
Either that, or I've been thinking about maybe dropping Vaal RF... Ofcourse it's good against bosses, but useless in mapping, and then Onslaught would give more to the build.

that is an interesting trade off.

We could even swap gems in a single unset ring set up. VRF for big bosses and Riposte while mapping and regular bosses.

By the way, I noticed you did not enable VRF in the POB link(this may have been by choice). When you enable it, the DPS jumps from 5.4m to over 7m.

If we can squeeze in two unset rings, onslaught gets the build to peak at 7.6m

Yea, because VRF is only a 1-time-use and then you have to charge it again.
The 5.4mil is "reliable" damage, up almost 100% of the time.

How about a secondary weapon set on weapon swap? Would require more button pushing though...

Onslaught is fantastic but I guess the choice between Riposte and Reckoning will come down to offense vs defense as the debilitate buff looks nice as well.

It looks fairly easy to keep up either one up near 100% of the time since we hit so frequently with Incinerate.

Yea, and also, Reckoning is an AoE skill, so will hit multiple enemies at once, Riposte is only 1 target.
Reckoning will be better still I think.

Is it viable (or crazy) to try and use both Reckoning and Riposte by leaving Reckoning where it is and then using Riposte in a second unset ring?

Riposte by itself is rather meaningless but if we can use it to proc Onslaught, it might have some good synergy with our build.

I believe I've read somewhere that it is counter productive because the cooldowns overlap. Ill try to find the thread I read that in to confirm.

EDIT, couldnt find where I read that, so maybe I was thinking of something else. Regardless reckoning should be sufficient and more reliable as OP stated due to aoe vs melee range of riposte.

thanks!! I was going to stay with Reckoning as well but I like to look at different ideas.

I will research having 2 triggered on block attacks and see if they can be used together just to better educate myself.
Hmm this is weird,
with the update, my tooltip dps went down a bunch... Does anyone have an idea why because I didn't change anything and the patch notes don't mention it I think.

Unbuffed tooltip went from 215k to 165k...

That seems in line with the dps drop off we see in POB.

How does the damage feel when you are playing? Is it noticeable?

Do you know which update it was? I got about 3 updates yesterday after starting 3.12

No idea, only started the game today, so could be any of the tree.

If they were nerfing something, they would have explained in the patch notes right?

It did feel like it was slower against bosses. Mobbing still OP though.

I have read through the notes multiple times and I can't see anything but there seem to be too many clues now that the damage has been reduced.
Can I play with other skills like Blazing Salvo?
can't use your pastebin... saying "unknown passive tree version"
Just wanted to let you know that I have a lot of fun with this so far.
Was frustrated with a crack lance build and looked for other templar builds since I hate to reroll and basically always play only one character per league.

After the clunky frustration of frost bomb/mines/orb of storm from Ziz' crack lance build, this just feels amazing. Burning everything down, the bosses so far melt like before the leveling bosses buffs.

Playing SSF for the first time this league, just to concentrate more on the actual game and spent less time trading and checking values etc. and I hope I can have fun with it for a while even without the endgame shield.

My damage for now is so good that I can even afford Zealotry (cause I have enough mana, because I don't have to channel for very long until everything is freakin' dead). Of course I will switch it out later. Just leveling for now.

Keep on burning. :)
