[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!
I spent way too much time tinkering today but I like some of the things I experimented with.
1) I tossed Arctic Armor and Herald of Ash. In their place I used Purity of Elements for full ailment immunity and more importantly, it allowed me a very cheap way to cap my chaos res and get a +1 fire skill amulet. I ended up with more damage, and capped chaos res with this change as well as full ailment immunity. I figure I will never likely get Aspect of the Spider so I am going to stick with this since I don't need any enlighten which saves some currency (which is in very short supply this league). 2) I have endurance charges up a lot and since I had an extra open gem slot, I went VERY old school and put in an Immortal Call in my CWDT set up. 3) I did extensive testing with the last support gem in the Incin setup. I settled on Concentrated Effect. The way I play, I don't care too much about AOE on my Incin. I want it mostly on my Infernal Cry, and the Concentrated Effect does not hurt Infernal Cry's AOE. In fact, I have added Increased AOE support to Infernal Cry for even bigger explosions. I did this back in Scourge league and forgot how much I liked it. |

My most recent playtrhough of T16 with tons of Abyss + Harvest [lv 93]:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmn4Gdvd7eM I love Abyss and even though in this particular vid there weren't many on death effect rares, quite often there're tons of them and that's where bodyswap also shines as it allowes you to dodges stuff while still dealing damage. I removed Culling Strike - Added Frost Bomb in CWDT and for more defensive measures added Anomalous Sigil of Power and Frost Shield for manual use. Although it's probably a bit of an overkill, but it's fun to precast at least Sigil before Abyss/Harvest/Essence etc spawns. Changed the ring to unset one that had high chaos res and dropped Taste of Hate which I put to immediate use as I always liked using it for additional survivability as well. Still using equipment of less than 1 div cost per piece with Coward's Legacy and CoA Skin being by far the most expensives ones. Gonna try and save up for Aegis from now on. I just realized I have plenty of mana left over and I can easily fit in Defiance Banner.
I am going to start leveling Defiance Banner in my swap slot, and then when I get exposure on my gloves, I will toss Wave of Conviction and add in Defiance Banner. That will bring my auras package to be: Determination, Purity of Elements, Tempest Shield and Defiance Banner, and no need for an Enlighten with this package. |

" I like this idea quite a bit. I'll tinker with it once I will finally farm enough to get Aegis. Since Stampede+Jewel combo doesn't do much for bodyswap version I will go for Tailwind+Onslaught boots and with Purity of Elements (with accompanying Watcher's eye) I won't need to overpay for such boots having chaos / lots of res on top of other decent mods. Legacy of Fury boots for Scorch could be a comparable (dps-wise) alternative but not sure, cause you can also have some nice additional stats on rare boots not to mention exarch/eater implicits. That -% flat res down from Scorch goes nice with all the Exposure the build has though. Though how do you get Freeze immunity now that you've lost Arctic Armour, by using Soul Brine patheon? --- I know I'm straying too much with that bodyswap tech, but I'll still mention the amazing revelation I just learnt because of ThatsRealNeato vid. While awakened cast when channeling gives me immunity to interruption from stuns (so you don't lose dps/channeling) it doesn't really prevent the actual stuns happening. That's where (Divergent) Cast When Stunned support comes into a clutch. Unlike CWDT the skills slotted into CWS don't have level requirement limitations and % less damage dealt (at lower levels) when proc'd and also proc when you block the hit. It will also proc the skills from weaker hits unless you have obscene HP numbers. E.g. compared to CWDT lv 20-21 where you need to receive 3272-3580 damage, on my current 4100 hp (+3200ES) character I would need to be hit with 2050 damage hit (IIRC you're 100% stunned if the hit reaches 50% of your Life damage) to proc the lvl 20+ skills. I mentioned before that I loved using Frost Shield and Anomalous Sigil of Power, but precasting was kind of a pain. Putting them both alongsides Vaal Cold Snap into CWS link pretty much solved the issue and now they're up vs pretty much every rare now that lives for more than a couple seconds. Kinda interesting that in this particular setup I'm running with awakened cwc it is beneficial to have no stun immunity. Aside from its defensive stuff it's also cool how Frost shield adds a bit of critical chance to get to Elemental Overload proc even faster and as for Sigil of power, well, enemy dealing 19% less damage in a huge area doesn't need to be explained. " Purity of Elements provides full immunity for Freeze, chill, ignite, scorch, brittle, shock, and sap. |
|
" I may be confused by this set up, but I think your character is still getting stunned (with interruptions) even with Awakened CWC. I think Awakened CWC provides the no interruptions stun support only at level 5 but I think you only have a level 4 right now... Please correct me if I am wrong. |

"Damn, you're right haha. All this time I thought I get interrupted whenever I did only because I used Flame Dash or some other short casting ability in between channeling. Well, only 120 mil exp remains to level it up one more time so I'll suffer a bit more. Also, Purity of Elements sounds even better now that I realized you get immunity to all elemental ailments. P.S. I'm about 2/3 towards my goal of getting Aegis, but it's so hard not to spend the currency on some smaller upgrades before I saved up enough. Last edited by MrCinos on Aug 30, 2022, 5:46:00 AM

"I'm lucky that I've dropped more raw divines that exalts so far, I'd be bummed out otherwise lol. Got lucky with Thunderfist drop today too and I'd like to thing this is helping: and just finished leveling Enlighten (failed vaal orb sadly at lv 3) and Awakened CwC gems while getting to 95 level at the same time. Just when I was about to buy Aegis, I see Pain Attunement Skin and RIP my 15 divines - time to grind 3-4 more days for Aegis again. Still, it felt nice to have so many passive points to spare again, for now I put them into the bottom left part, don't really have any damage nodes worth the investment left and cluster/threads of hope options are all cost currency that I'm saving up again for Aegis which is 3-4 days of farm for me. Congrats on the Pain Attunement Skin!!
That is a much more difficult item to find so I think it makes sense to get that before Aegis, of which there will always be plenty to buy once you have enough cash. |

Thanks and also got to say that even without Aegis the only thing I was dying to were Hexer ANs (excluding me not paying attention to on-death effects), every time I die it's always them bursting me in under 1 second. Took me long time to realize I need curse res flask, so hopefully 60% from it and 50% from passive tree is enough now - spotted 3 or 4 of them since then and I could at least react now, lol. 50% from the tree alone was definitely too little.
Granted all I've been playing is regular alch'd red t16s with 2 rare mob sextants 1 abyss sextant and abyss/shrine/jun/essence focus on atlas. Trying to generate as many ANs as I can without going into Delirium. Last edited by MrCinos on Aug 30, 2022, 1:55:23 PM
