[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

I'm confused, the PoB links I see are for Elementalist?
Usually I'm pretty excited to share my progress, but the last two days have put me into a really negative mood with all the game change revelations even though I still spend a bit too many hours in the game daily.

I'd probably feel less worse if I didn't decide to avoid heist and expedition entirely this league as I dont want to touch heist on non-specialized character and already did too much expedition in previous leagues. And learning I gimp myself even harder now compared to those who engage with those mechanics makes me a bit salty to say the least. Knowing that only select few league mechanics are decent currency-makers is not doing good to my motivation.

Today's loot improvements preview is still pretty barebones albeit a start. I do hope more uniques dropped makes the build more affordable (Aegis in particular). Although the biggest unique providers like omega map juicers are still not coming back probably as quantity / non-boss drops are hardly touched, so the offer on the market wouldn't be as big as it used to. Don't even let me start on Harvest, lol. Overall, last two leagues I felt like 100-150 ex (divines) budget for the characters I ended up making felt attainable to me while now even ~15 div budget for the whole build, let alone one item like Aegis atm, feels very daunting. So far the only item that was worth at least 1 div that I managed to afford is Empower lv 3. Hopefully Skin of the Loyal Simple Robe next today. Skin of the Lords Robe is too expensive for now.

Still, here's hoping more change is coming, lakes become decent farming strategy, etc etc.

Alright, gonna share some more thoughts on actual gameplay.

Bodyswap is such an amazing clear tech choice that keeps delivering more and more. If before I swapped out of bodyswap + cwc to infused channeling + elemental focus for harder encounters, now in early red maps I stopped doing that because I feel more safe during bodyswap dodging some of the enemy attacks as a side effect and more importanly because I'm also stun immune thanks to (pretty cheap) awakened cast when channeling gem.

I find myself using Frostblink less and less as my cast time became faster. Because at this point of time losing channeling stacks is a positive thing for more burst, so I'd rather press Flame Dash and release fully charged Incinerate at the same time.

I continue to enjoy instant Infernal Cry even more now that I've tasted some deaths due to stunlock before I upgraded cwc to awakened one. I can keep warcrying while being stun immune thanks to awakened cwc. Ofc I still break from channeling when I flame dash or frost bomb, but those are much quicker to use than Infernal Cry without any items/masteries affecting its speed. Overall, the setup is quite literally lifesaving considering that getting Unwavering Focus from medium clusters isn't feasible in my current situation.

Also, I said this before

The biggest negative about bodyswapping is that you dont really stay stationary during channeling

but this isn't quite true, as from what I can tell you're still stationary but with those "instant" (during bodyswap) moments where you lose the status and get it back once you reappear. So stuff like Arctic Armour still gets you full benefit as you're targetable only when you're in a stationary status. Inexorable should work too with Bodyswap as well while Soul of Tukohama effect where you need to sustain stationary effect for x seconds will not work. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one, though I'll try to research a bit more on this, the whole interaction between the skill and stationary stuff should be identical to what you get when you use Flicker Strike.

EDIT: Yep, Inexorable works while bodyswapping, also got this beauty of a shield for 100c:

and had a lot passive points to move around thanks to that (removing from uneccessary spell block and mana regen nodes). Got Iron Will keystone that gives a really noticeable PoB damage for me atm aka more than 10+% total main sheet dps increase. I don't really see anything in the similar vicinity to boost damage with the same efficiency and I get access to Constitution within 2 nodes as well. Pretty much got massive eHP boost (hp/es/armour) while even managing to boost my DPS considerably with just one sub-1 divine purchase and moving some points.

Might be the time to finally get 4th ascendancy (lol) and move onto t16. Still not sure if I want to get Shaper of Storms ascendancy for now though, since the enemies are already always shocked because of my current helmet and I won't change it for a while still. Or is still worth it cause it will shock enemies with high lightning/shock resistance? Cause PoB damage increase itself is very negligent (more than 2x less than with Liege of the Primordial while having Lightning Golem on me) on my character that already has shocked ground around myself all the time. Hmm. I think I'll go for Liege of Primordial for now as cast speed is so good and I can have big physical defense boost via additional chaos golem or something. While I dont have Aegis survivability is always what's first on my mind.

So now I have 3691 life + 2812 es (6503 - 2k higher than I had before I did the shield wap) on a ~3 divine budget for the entire equipment. Too bad the shield doesn't have 30% block chance but I have Doryani's Invitation belt and got sulfur spell leech flask to compensate the leech, dont really need quicksilver flask with bodyswap zooming anyway. And the weapon still gives 800 ES too so it's not that bad.

EDIT: Really feel a lot more powerful now so motivation is boosted. Also dropped Enlighten from Crystal-skinned Archenm so gonna level it slowly as well.

read the very top of the first post in the thread.
I love going to bed when something costs 3 divine and wake up and it only costs 1 divine :)

I got my Skin of the Loyal now and am going to transition away from my heist character and start to level Incinerate.

thanks for sharing! lots of interesting stuff in here. I love that you solved the stun issue with Awakened CWC. We usually use our medium clusters for that but this is a nice clean solution for your build.

I watched the video of the body swap you posted and it looks very clean. If you can get to the point where you can limit gem swaps, as you seem to be getting close to, that sounds ideal. I am pretty sure that no matter what you do though, you are going to have to gem swap for big bosses as your top end DPS won't be enough with the CWC Bodyswap setup, but that is not too big a deal IMO.

Since you have shock on the helmet (which if I understand it correctly, effectively replaces Shaper of Storms exactly (15% for 15%), your choice of Liege of the Primordial makes sense as your golem is going to die a ton once you start doing juice T16 maps.

I have a question about that shield you are using. Does it work with Cerberus to proc the life leech? Or is this why you are using the Doryani's Invitation belt?

Great work all around. I am glad you are enjoying experimenting with the build. You have a ton of interesting ideas. I am very interested to see how it plays out in late end game. I also understand your frustration with GGG. I think they are heading down a very dangerous path. I still love the game myself but I can understand why are others are frustrated enough to quit.

1. Yeah, the further I go into red maps the harder Boss DPS is falling off but regular 6-link is sitll doing a fine job for those, that's for sure. But at least archnems are still on the easier side for now to deal with, but I'm still in a filling out the atlas phase. Pretty painful red map sustain slows me down as well. Ideally once you're done with Atlas poins I'd use bodyswap on certain 2-3 map templates of my choice with a fairly straightforward route to simulate Flicker strike experience even more, lol.

2. Well, the shield doesn't have 30% Block so I'm pretty sure Cerberus doesn't proc the life leech. But given by how big of an armour/ES stick it is + 1 passive point saved, I still think it's a really good pre-Aegis option. The belt I picked up as soon as I started doing maps cause it's dirt cheap and fits the build as an independent budget option. EDIT: My belt I got for <5 chaos, but seems like it's quite a bit more expensive now.

This game's ability to troll is unparalleled.

While leveling my character, I have seen 3 raw exalt drops before act 7.

Come on!! lol
Got Call to Arms Skin, cheap +2 Fire skill amulet (20c), remembered that I didn't use Tempest Shield which freed me 7 spell block passive skills (not to mention much needed shock immunity), got the Pain attunement belt + watcher's eye and things are getting pretty smooth. Also decided to go for Disciple of the Unyielding anoint for now as with 5 endurance charges atm it helps me generate them even faster and gives offensive boost from them as well

It's been a long time since I found rare archnemesis tanky enough to feel like I'm taking too much time killing it on a bodyswap link, but ofc some uniques can still take some time, but at least the tankiness is there too so I rarely feel threatened on regular rare/corrupted T16s. The clear is getting very fast and it should improve even more when the AN nerf is live next week.

The one archnem mod that makes me go ??? is hexer. There were a couple times where just 2 basic mods archnem with one of them being hexer just oneshot me despite using chaos res flask / being near chaos res cap, I know chaos damage bypasses ES but still I had ~70 res and 3500+ lfe so it felt weird. I've 0 issues with Archnem HPs/defensive stacking, but I sure wouldnt have minded if their offensive capabilities got toned down a bit.

I liked using Frost Shield in CWDT for quite a bit, but sadly it costs quite a bit of mana on higher levels and isn't feasible in 4+ aura setup. Decided to swap it either to Frost Bomb or Culling Strike. For now I went with Culling Strike linked to Vaal Cold Snap and CWDT. On its own it's probably not that efficient with 3 seconds cooldown of Cold Snap, but I can use Vaal CS whenever I want for controlled culling which makes popping some tankier enemies more satisfying. It's even better when I'm not on a bodyswap version of Incinerate as you can go for a "bigger" ~15% life or so cull instead of 10% as before you cold snap with culling effect your 10 stack Incinerate will do a small burst first as well while with bodyswap you can even miss the Incinerate release hit entirely cause your positioning is random.

cool ring!! That looks like it came from the Lake. Very nice.

Disciple of the Unyielding is excellent and you can use it all the way up until you get the Aegis shield when you then can switch to Inexorable.

I started mapping yesterday and it has been really smooth. Going for my 4th ascendency this morning. In the next few skill points I will be getting pain attunement and Glancing Blows. I am hoping I can move to a 6 link when Glancing Blows is enabled since it will increase my mana regen quite a bit.
