0.10.4b and 0.10.5 Patch Details

splash + aoe abilities, wonder how that'll work out XD every hit does a small explosion multiplying the damage in tight packs.

splashing cleave anyone? maybe cyclone+splash? this will be kind of like a cluster bomb going off in someone's face XD

Don't destroy the Voll's Protector!

Make it useful for pure damage users giving it 25% spell damage more (or a bit of crit multi).

Before saying it would be op, please consider that using a voll means to:

1- Halve your mana (and therefore having to invest some passive points in that).
2- Most importantly renounce on pure ES armors that can give 400+ (even double than that) ES, remember that a 400 es armor would give 330ES more than a Voll's, that would translate in about 1-1.5k ES with some ES passives (expecially to Ci users).

The fact that a 5L Voll's would give the same damage as a 6l pure Es with that gem, isn't enough of a reason to use a Voll's at its current state with the huge drawbacks it has.

You don't even know how high the chance for a Charge is with a max level gem and talk about a item being made useless already.

That's actually exactly the purpose of keywords. Using the keywords below the name of the skill in the gem tooltip, you can get a very good idea of what it does. The fact that that;s what the keywords are for should be better communicated, though.

Heh, I am living in the time of 0.9.7 when the keyword was "Where is Oak?" - good times! ;)
Still, it could be very usefull to at least link all the gems on the appropriate threads in the sub-forums so people can see what the current version of the gem says. I think the forum needs more comprehensive explainations than ingame or at least the same informations. Also, it serves as a communication of the keywords and helps people plan gem-builds better!

It doesn't matter how high the chance for charge is, my ice spear witch has 40% crit chance flat and 70% crit chance with charges, give me even a 10% chance to get a charge from the gem and i'll be able to keep up the charges pretty much always.
Survivability problems are fixed by making it easier to gain endurance charges and maintain them.

Enduring cry is a pain in the ass, warlord mark's should be buffed to get them easier in later endgame, and immortal call slightly buffed, and a lot of the survivability problems would be gone. I don't think they will rework how armour works so... They also should make it so only melee characters benefit from these changes to have some advantage over casters and ranged.

Also new skills like 'arctic armour' are pretty good although the resource demand (mana) is crazy high, and going in the right direction.
I think you guys push yourself too hard with weekly patches! You should patch every 2nd week imo :)
However,Im SOO glad there gona be power charge on crit in this patch because Im a crit witch and we are really in need for power charge spell.

Cleave has a pretty decent arc it hits in. The splash is probably smaller and has a low Damage Effectiveness.

If you are truly worried about just hitting a lot of mobs, then cleave is probably the way to go. If you want to get the special effect of another melee skill but still hit some extra mobs, then splash will be good for that.

That would be my interpretation at least.
