Overheating my video card?

I am using an ATI RADEON HD 4670.While idle it's about 50C (very hot summer) but as soon as i turn on PoE it jumps to 80-90 and after like an hour of gameplay my computer just shuts down.I do not have or ever had problems with overheating with any other game.Maybe there is some kind of fix?

I'm using a dual exhaust fan setup atm, side case off, this game was turning my PC into a toaster.

I thought I was having the same problem, but now I'm not so sure.

I've been monitoring temps on my new Sony laptop, and it appears that my CPU is the culprit for this game. My GPU never goes above about 77C (Nvidia 640M LE), but my i7 (dual core, 3520M) hits 95C when in intense mutliplayer (eg 3+ people) combat.

When I hit those CPU temps, I get this sort of artifact in the heat of combat usually:

There are two images in the link above that I posted.

Anyone else seen this sort of artifact?

Petrov.

I'm on an old laptop and I'm overclocking my graphics card to be able to play this game, so my card runs hot no matter what.

When I realized I'd have to soup up my GPU clocks to be able to play PoE, I opened up my laptop and did a real job of cleaning off dust and applying new thermal paste.

At normal clocks I'd run at 75-80c degrees when under heavy load.

With OC settings and the lowest settings (1680x1050) my Gforce 9500M GS runs at a steady 85-90c degrees, which it can also handle. It's handled it for five years.

Sometimes this stays the same for both Acts, and even though the card doesn't handle the fog in the Ship Graveyard and Pools very well, it doesn't run hotter.

The forest areas (Not the dark one) generally spike my temp to above 90, 90-95 usually, but today RivaTuner reported it had run hot at up to 98c degrees.

No other game manages to pull that off, the card simply hasn't allowed itself to run that hot, it just lags to hell.
The GPU is only cooled by a heatpipe to the shared CPU/GPU fan and a heatsink mounted onto that heatpipe, and the fan speed is controlled by the BIOS, always running at 100% while gaming.

There have been times recently when the card has spiked in temp in completely random places, but my thighs generally report increase in temperature in the two tropical forests.
(Yes, and RivaTuner backs up my thighs :p)
My GPU overheats too, the diode thermometer gets up to 95 celsius (says HWInfo32) and this is definitely not normal.

I play a lot of games that I believe require more power than PoE and they don't push the GPU as much as PoE does.

I have no graphic bugs and I can play the game for hours at the announced temperature but I know thats not good...

I get a error frequently when I change zones (enter a new instance) "unable to map file" Im starting to think if its because the GPU overheating.

I was willing to buy a nice new fan but its hard to find one that fits on my old HD5750.
ATI Radeon HD5670 here, overheating at 85 C...

I get a black screen, no signal, and then it's back at the game with a dislocated mouse and graphical glitches all over the place.
I have a XFX Nvidia 9800GT. It always runs with 83 degree (75% Fan Speed), when I play a game. Never had a problem.
Path of Exile - One of the Best ARPG of All Time
Fairly new nvidia gt 530, fan set to 75% all the time for this game. Routinely getting upwards of 90c. Also, Gpu processing at over 90% for long times. I do not think that 7 pages of problems are on our end lol.

Oh, one more thing. Got vsync on on both the game and my graphics card, but fps in the f1 monitor in game shows me spiking up to 111fps (highest i've seen anyway).

Quad core i5 2320 @3.0ghz, 8 gb of ram. You'd think I could play an Arpg huh? lol, just messin, but seriously, not on my end. All are updated, and clean. Play Crysis at max 70c.

I got basically the same thing as others. My ATI 5850 HD is reaching 90°C. If I play for too long, my card overheats and my PC crashes. It's only on this game.

Edit: I should also add that it happens with Vsync on.

Same thing here, 9800GT hitting 95ºC. Already lost a card once due to overheat and I'm definatelly not playing this game until this issue is fixed.
Hey,
Similar thing here. I run the game with a Notebook and Geforce gt630m.
When in game the fpd sometimes goes up to 140 !
That produces a lot of heat. I´ve already activated vsync with my graphics driver because ingame vsync didn´t do anything...same thing.
I´m testing out other vsync progs now.
