GGPK Defragmenter
How do I use this?
I downloaded and double clicked the exe... Do I need to place it in the PoE folder or did it work? twitch.tv/ironman_isomer

Probably not. You need to run it from the command prompt.
The absolutely easiest way to do this is if you copy the .exe to your PoE folder (rightclick the shortcut on your desktop -> "Open file location" gets you there fast) On Win7 (Vista too?) 1: Shift + Rightclick in the PoE folder (Anywhere in the window except on files/folders) 2: Select "Open command window here", the command prompt will open directly in this folder 3: In the command prompt type: ggpk_defragment.exe Content.ggpk Content2.ggpk 4: Press enter and wait it'll take a few minutes 5: Once done click on the Content.ggpk file and rename it to something else (eg. Content.ggpk.bak) 6: Rename the Content2.ggpk that got created to Content.ggpk and you're done Might wanna include a guide on the first page :) |

" you could probably include a BAT file with it that runs the commands: ggpk_defragment.exe Content.ggpk "Content Backup.ggpk" Pause Then people just need to place both files in there game folder and double click the BAT file. You can then add some swanky BAT menu or text to make it more obvious what is happening. How is this not a sticky thread?

Works like a charm. I had some programming lessons a couple of month ago but the little insight I got there wasn't even enough to understand the simplest thing of coding. Thank you very much for this small but useful programm, Zoxc :)
P.S. Make this sticky please. |

I was having issues in Act 3 with game crashing on map transitions (many seem to have this), and more recently - flickering shadows/objects in a select few maps and generally very bad loading times.
I don't know or why, but running this tools has removed those problems (haven't had even one hiccup in 3 hours) and decreased all of my loading/map transition times. Thank you. |
