It's that time of year again, v3.5.0 rendered 2.88~GB's of data redundant. Another words running the defragmenter will reduce the content.ggpk file by about 2.88GB's (From 17.63GB's down to 14.7GB's) and improve the general performance of asset loading in the game.

My only question is why is this not a part of the Client. Seems if it is that good and GGG does mind it being used it should be made into a simple one click operation a User could run from time to time.

3.3 GB I followed this guide found in this thread: 1: Shift + Rightclick in the PoE folder (Anywhere in the window except on files/folders) 2: Select "Open command window here", the command prompt will open directly in this folder 3: In the command prompt type: ggpk_defragment.exe Content.ggpk Content2.ggpk 4: Press enter and wait it'll take a few minutes 5: Once done click on the Content.ggpk file and rename it to something else (eg. Content.ggpk.bak) 6: Rename the Content2.ggpk that got created to Content.ggpk and you're done But somehow didnt genereate a content2 file. I couldnt care less though, cause I finally no longer dc 2-3 times when first logging in, and zone switches run like a breeze now. Cant say how thankful I am! @ GGG: you guys seriously need to put this in the game! Cant be that hard of a deal since it already exist. |
