[Bug] Minimap Data not saved / Minimap keeps resetting (Maybe workaround inside)

Hi,

i currently have the problem, that my Path of Exile does not save any minimap information between changing zones.

Update:

According to many of the responses i got in thread and via message it has a very high chance, that Windows-Account Names (and thus Path-Names to the PoE Folder where Minimap Data is stored) that contain any non-latin chars seem to be a problem for PoE since 3.10.

This would be anything from:

* Letters witch accents: áéí etc.
* any other non-latin letters (cyrillic, korean, chinese, japanese etc.)
* maybe spaces? not sure about them, since "My Games" also contains one

Basically a potential workaround is: Create a Windows Profile that just contains: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz + UpperCase, maybe numbers, not tested

If that does not work, make sure you tried all those "read-only"-Problem solutions, given all around the internet, because some rare times it still is a problem, that the "Documents/My Games/Path of Exile/Minimap"-Folder looses some read-rights, so PoE cannot create files in it. (a quick test would be to start PoE as admin, that can already solve that kind of a problem)

Facts and things i already tried:

* It occurs, when i just change between zones within a few seconds.
* It is NOT map reset after some minutes (loot is still on the ground)
* I excluded everything concerning Path of Exile from Windows Defender
* I excluded the whole "My Games" Folder from Windows Defender Antivirus
* I do not use an additional antivir or any other protection software
* The behaviour occurs in the Official Client AND in the Steam Client
* I checked folder permissions of "../My Games/Path of Exile". Everyone hase Full Access Permissions (including Read and Write)
* I removed permissions and added them again (via Security GUI and via Command Line and via Power Shell just be be sure)
* The minimap worked just hours before the league started
* If i delete the Minimap folder, it gets recreated by the game, but no single file is ever written into it
* Running PoE as Admin makes no difference
* Rebooting has made no difference
* Reinstalling my Windows 10 has made no difference
* Reinstalling the Game (Client & Steam) has made no difference
* Disabling all Antivirus and Firewall Software has made no difference
* I am Administrator with my User Account

I am out of ideas of what to try, i tried each and every hint i could get from any forum/reddit source i could find

Can anybody help me? Can i somehow see any kind of debug log of PoE that may tell me what happens when it tries to save files to Minimap?

Same, MOTD also doesn't display so probably something with Documents folder. Disabling antivirus, reinstalling, removing folder doesn't help at all.

same here, tried reinstalling the game, also made a complete reinstall of windows on new hard drive

Same here. I've noticed the Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Minimap is always empty. Reinstalling the game didn't work. The folder is not marked as read only and I've even added the Everyone group with full access to it's permissions.

From what you found, is there anything missing from what OP posted in the first post?

Same problem since the delirium patch.

No new data is created in the minimap folder, the last one is from the day before the update.

Tried everything like OP, so I'm pretty sure it's not windows fault for once ...
