Changes to the Atlas of Worlds in Path of Exile: Delirium
Um sorry, but what? If I'm reading this all correctly, there is now MUCH less incentive to do Atlas Awakening bonuses.
That map modifier effect % isn't a positive thing, it just makes the maps deadlier to do with no upside. Now that it's moved off the Awakening level and onto the Atlas Awakening bonus, it means the base atlas with awakening levels will be easier but discourage completing the bonus. On top of that, the ONLY reason people chased the bonus in the first place was to get the higher tier map drops. Now that it's gone, at least give us a way to block atlas awakening bonus completion. This was a backwards decision that no one asked for. To even get any benefits from the Master awards, you would need 150 bonuses completed to get a margin benefit. Hardly any reason to do it outside of feeling coerced to do it if you're someone that cared about Master missions (no one plays off that rng, they'd rather just buy Master Seeks Help prophecies. No one understands this change. We like the deterministic changes to the Conquerors, but NO ONE asked for the Awakening Level/Bonus changes. |

40% chance of Atlas mission? I don't know if it is the case on PC, but on PS4 my experience this league is 1 out of 10 in average. In Blight league 40% sounds about right.
Now I can kiss Atlas mission goodbye for good. |

" Well sarcasm aside i guess you will be back next league to keep playing a game that is going from strength to strength :) |

One of our goals is to provide more incentive to complete Awakening Bonus Objectives.
We'll also be removing the "x% chance for Maps to drop one tier higher" bonus from Awakening Bonus Objectives. you what???? it was the only reason. Then the buff was Atlas Mission 10% more |
|
"False, it also amplifies the quantity and rarity modifiers (and possibly the pack size modifier as well). |

Great work GGG - again you are listening to the players. Keep this spirit alive!

I'm not seeing anything in here that reduces the pressure to run T14-T16 maps. My biggest issue with the endgame right now is that it pushes everyone into running the most dangerous content available, even if they're not comfortable with that, and the Delirium mechanic isn't going to help with that. I think this is at the root of many of the one-hit kill complaints, where people are being pushed by the mechanics into running T14-T16 before getting the gear to be able to do that safely. The change to awakening levels to be number of watchstones/4 is going to mean that there's no good way to run yellow maps with an awakening level of 0.
I'm also unsure why I would ever complete Awakening Bonus Objectives on purpose; increasing the effect of modifiers seems like a good way to make the endgame more deadly without any way to back off if you realize you've gone too far. |

I have to agree with the general sentiment here, the changes to the awakening bonus is not good. It messes with map sustain and return we get a very minor buff to master mission spawning and that buff effectively takes getting the bonus on almost all the maps to even get. This is less incentive, not more, to go after the bonus.
I also have to say that while I like the idea of the new method of spawning Conquerors, I think you took it to far. 40 Maps to spawn Sirus at at Awakener Level 8, and that's not including any maps you have to run to spawn influence. And as you will have to run at least 1 map to spawn influence its a minimum of 44 maps, though with rng being what it is I'm guessing it'll average to around 50 per Sirus. I believe this should be cut down to 5 maps per conqueror to spawn the fight to total 6 fights per conqueror and 24 fights per Sirus plus whatever you need to run to spawn influence. Its still a decent bit of grinding but not so over the top. |
