Changes to the Atlas of Worlds in Path of Exile: Delirium

40% chance of Atlas mission? I don't know if it is the case on PC, but on PS4 my experience this league is 1 out of 10 in average. In Blight league 40% sounds about right.

Now I can kiss Atlas mission goodbye for good.

So you're not bringing back a way to block unwanted map drops. Well, fuck my life. Game's dead.

Well sarcasm aside i guess you will be back next league to keep playing a game that is going from strength to strength :)
One of our goals is to provide more incentive to complete Awakening Bonus Objectives.
We'll also be removing the "x% chance for Maps to drop one tier higher" bonus from Awakening Bonus Objectives.

you what???? it was the only reason.

Then the buff was Atlas Mission 10% more

That map modifier effect % isn't a positive thing, it just makes the maps deadlier to do with no upside.
False, it also amplifies the quantity and rarity modifiers (and possibly the pack size modifier as well).
Great work GGG - again you are listening to the players. Keep this spirit alive!

I'm not seeing anything in here that reduces the pressure to run T14-T16 maps. My biggest issue with the endgame right now is that it pushes everyone into running the most dangerous content available, even if they're not comfortable with that, and the Delirium mechanic isn't going to help with that. I think this is at the root of many of the one-hit kill complaints, where people are being pushed by the mechanics into running T14-T16 before getting the gear to be able to do that safely. The change to awakening levels to be number of watchstones/4 is going to mean that there's no good way to run yellow maps with an awakening level of 0.

I'm also unsure why I would ever complete Awakening Bonus Objectives on purpose; increasing the effect of modifiers seems like a good way to make the endgame more deadly without any way to back off if you realize you've gone too far.
I have to agree with the general sentiment here, the changes to the awakening bonus is not good. It messes with map sustain and return we get a very minor buff to master mission spawning and that buff effectively takes getting the bonus on almost all the maps to even get. This is less incentive, not more, to go after the bonus.

I also have to say that while I like the idea of the new method of spawning Conquerors, I think you took it to far. 40 Maps to spawn Sirus at at Awakener Level 8, and that's not including any maps you have to run to spawn influence. And as you will have to run at least 1 map to spawn influence its a minimum of 44 maps, though with rng being what it is I'm guessing it'll average to around 50 per Sirus. I believe this should be cut down to 5 maps per conqueror to spawn the fight to total 6 fights per conqueror and 24 fights per Sirus plus whatever you need to run to spawn influence. Its still a decent bit of grinding but not so over the top.

After reading through 20 pages of comments I decided to throw in my two cents because what the heck.

I agree that we need to have ways to target farm certain maps again. I feel a fair compromise is to make it so chaining the same map over and over makes it so your conquerors don't spawn (Which is kinda how it is now). So if you want to chain the same maps then you miss out on the new conquerors and sirus fights which can be insanely profitable. NOT EVERYONE enjoys bossing as my build could not even clear Sirus. It just forces you to get carries and results in a whole scam market of awakened gem snipers.

The new atlas FORCES you to run the mostly trash layouts in the game. Know what, if you want to solve this perhaps copy the idea I have seen earlier that some of the good divination cards can simply drop from any map now or perhaps a lot more maps. For example, The Nurse card dropping from more than a specific map to let's say 10 maps gives a huge incentive to run maps. For example, Shrine map is just trashy layout and the ONLY reason it might be worth popping is because of the chance of a Fiend card. How about a throwback to the old Abandoned Wealth card? Why not make the exalted cards or even most currency cards drop from way more maps? I'd suggest like 50% smaller chance of card dropping on other maps instead of the primary map to help battle the new supply of said cards. Just make it so running these trash layouts are better by fixing the layouts (Priority) or by adding more reward (Divination Cards). Bad layouts are not fun.

TLDR: If the new atlas is to remain unchanged, please fix the crappy layouts and make them worthwhile to run. The main issue I see with not being able to target farm is that you lose income potential (doctor farming) and you have to run maps with no rewards and bad layouts (double whammy). No one wants to click 10-20 doors per map and get stuck walking into random crap on the map. Or simply take some divination cards and toss them onto some of these bad maps to make them less trash.
