You missed the point. Running the small cluster on its own would be cost inefficient, but you run small clusters off medium clusters, which you run off large clusters.

The cost to get to the big cluster is still 3 Skillpoints or 3 skillpoints and a good (abyssal) jewel which can gibe you lots of benefits.

The cost to get to the medium and small jewels is even higher. So they might be worth using, but the investment for those is way to high for way to low benefits, since a lot of buiöds struggle to cut out passive points. You just need them to get some stats or to get to another node that is crucial for your build. And if clusters does not cover that, they are a nice idea but todally underwhelming.

I am suffering that "disconnected from pathing server before download complete" issue and the only way to fix this, is through downloading ggpk file directly.

When I saw the whole jewel system I was very excited but quickly was not when I realised that you need to invest points just like any other on the tree.

From what we have seen so far, there are OKAYish nodes but nothing so massive to the point it might change builds vastly especially since investment is really high. I suspect there might be a few variations that will become dominant for some builds and this will become a forgotten meme but we shall see! Hope I am wrong.

All in all league got me interested enough and I might just pull the trigger on the orion supporter pack =)

The cost to get to the big clusters IS 3 skill points, but the cost to get to the medium/small ones is only 1 skill point (the jewel socket in the big/medium clusters respectively). having a large - medium - small cluster minimizes the losses as a percentage of nodes spent. You can also run a keystone in place of the small cluster.

Each of these clusters appear to be able to have up to 4 mods that can impact the small nodes as far as I can tell. I find it very difficult to believe that well rolled clusters will be outclassed by comparable nodes on the tree, even taking into consideration the points spent on blank nodes. Even if its close I suspect there will be some especially juicy notables that will turn the tide in the favor of the new cluster jewels.

We'll have to wait and see.
