Yes and no. The nodes will be high value especially on good clusters, but you need to pass through a lot of nodes that give very little to nothing in order to get them. The two trash nodes to get to the outer jewel socket, and not to mention all the jewel sockets are effectively blank nodes also.

I'm not trying to downplay the power of these new clusters mind you, I think they'll be quite good and probably worth including in just about any build, but yeah there is a cost to them.

Finally some passives, that may be worth pathing towards. My hype was getting slightly killed with those weak options you guys kept teasing before. Hope there is more interesting ones like these last two in store for us. <3

It will be especially good on characters that normally do not have it easy to get certain passives, like, Templar/Witch getting life steal for example.

The idea of the xp loss (aside from just making things harder and not boring us to sleep), is to create achievement levels at that point. If your character build is not good enough to be a said level, they should not be able to be said level unless they do a lot of low risk low reward maps and grind for a long time.

The notion of "it doesn't matter, I will still get to max lvl even though I didnt earn it and died 1022 times" does not belong in PoE. That is for D3 and the pointless Paragon grind of pointless numbers that never end to keep doing pointless content which is the same on repeat and just fiddle with values to show... a progression??? That is almost the same as them tying progression to "hrs played" :D

For new players... Play the game and make builds. You don't have to go to lvl 100. You dont have to do T16 maps. There is tons of content to enjoy before you get to do that, and in the process increase your stay. Do it with purpose of discovering the game and builds and how it works, and I doubt you wont enjoy it. If you still don't, then the game is not for you. And would be better you try something else lest the game becomes something it is not intended to be in order to tap into a different target group.

Lol i just see 300%, 5 more years and D3-style 5000% won't surprise anyone.
I really don't know if those jewels will be that good that you will sacrifice a lot of skill points to get to them. I hope so.

But what is already clear for me is that I will collect the maximum of all the good jewels I will get or craft and try, like at mid-league when the entertainment is decreasing to create a full build around a tree that i have created. Or try 2/3 of it maybe, the more I can.

That will probably finish in a meme build, but it will be so funny to try.
Maybe it will finish in a crazy builds league, or not.

Bah, is it REALLY so much to ask for some ranged passive support for impale?! I get that the nodes can still be used for ranged attacks, but they're way over on the other side of the tree! I want to make an impale bow build without traveling the circumference of the sun to get to the relevant nodes. Some better itemization would be nice too.
