90+ leveling tips for those who die a lot

Currently I play Ranger and so far managed to level to 93. Deadeye has always been squishy, but with all these buffs and metamorphs...

So these are a few ideas I came up to level up after level ~88-90 for those who die so much that a usual progression is no longer an option.

Your ideas are also welcome.

1. Running low-tier maps is bad. Too much time - too little exp.

2. Alva. I make 3 white missions for her, then a yellow map I know I can do deathless. And then clear the whole temple on the level of that map. Note that I have 25+ Chaos res.

3. Delve is you friend. First you need to get as much fuel capacity as you can. Then get a full load. And then just run delve horizontally on the depth you find reasonable for you build. For me it is around 120 - I know I don't die here. Try to clear as many side-rooms as possible. For me a full load can give around 50-60% XP needed.

4. Make "leveling up" a task. First you prepare for it (get full fuel), then you go for it and you don't do anything else until you have finished the task! Especially forget metamorphs.

For example how I leveled up 92-93
- Run high-tier maps till I get a full load of fuel. Died a lot, so finished at around 10% above level.
- Go Alva's a few times up to around 35%
- Went Delve with a little pause to replenish some fuel in T5 maps (still had a few missions there). Run out of fuel at 90% xP
- T6 Burials untill it is done (think twice before touching the MM)

Unlike most threads these days, you seem to want to help the community and you put actual thought into your post.

That deserves a rare 👍.

I'd suspect the level of the monsters in delve will bypass t16 maps eventually as it essentally goes on forever. Save up some niko dailies on atlas for a easy way to fill your fuel. and jack that fuel as high as you can as it seems each niko quest in maps at least seem to fill a percentage of it.

Nah it stops at 83, they get harder as you get deeper and the rewards improve (though not significantly enough to reward the difficulty IMO) but the monster level no longer increases or we'd all be 100 already lol
Find anything you enjoy doing without dying and do a hell of a lot of it.
now till me how get pass 96.
I have ALWAYS used delve for leveling.
Niko IS your friend.
Maybe it's a psychological thing, but I have it in my head that when I get around 80% I head to Delve.
It just seems guaranteed, or maybe it's more guaranteed I will rip in a map.
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...
To be fair once you get to 95 or 96 (unless you have a 100 goal), the risk reward in softcore simply means that you will die more.

At that point its unlikely a single skill point will make a difference in hours of gameplay it will take to lvl up.

You dont have to worry about MM or crazy map mods. The returns may be worth a death or two depending on what you are doing.

So yes you could play more careful, and avoid danger, but what's the point? In 100 maps you get a skill point? No thanks.

You need to:

- have a stable internet connection (deaths due to lag will happen otherwise)
- run a build that's able to run T15/T16 maps in principle
- be aware what mods and mod combinations you can run and which ones you need to avoid (no "alch and go", pick what you can safely do and also keep in mind that some mods can be problematic for certain map bosses in particular, e. g. higher AOE for Kitava fights)
- avoid metamorphs and other dangerous encounters that can easily kill you (conquerers, some legion mobs, certain map bosses, breachlords, shaper/elder (guardians), etc.)
- know what your build can handle and play it safe 100% of the time
- avoid party play unless you're sure the other player(s) is/are an actual help and not a burden

If your build can do delve well, do a lot of delving. If you can handle Betrayal encounters, do safehouse runs (they give tons of xp). Do level 83 Alva temples (watch that chaos damage!).

If you die a lot in maps at 90+ I struggle to believe that you won't die a lot in delve cruising in the monster level 83's :/
I very rarely die in Delve at all. And I really don't like skipping the league mechanic, which is MMs that kill me far more often than anything else. So I go to other activities, level up, and go on dying 3 times from MMs since I don't bother anymore about losing XP - I am at 0% anyway.

So delve is good exp? When does it start giving good exp compared to maps?

For me it is a good exp for at least I don't die in Delve. Especially if you can clear side-rooms (it is important for your XP/Sulphite ratio).
Currently at depth 138 I have monster level 80.
Generally I've heard keeping between 100 and 150 is an option. And you should "listen" to how the difficulty feels for you - if you "almost die" - don't go deeper. You can always go horizontally on the roughly same depth.

great tips, not a single mention about mapmods or their effects on metamorphs or even T8 Atlas.

Kappa

Because when I set task for leveling-up - I skip MM on any map above T6. Just to be sure I don't die stupidly.
And the whole idea is "get ready, then get away from maps for as long as you can".

Thank you.

P.S. By the way, for those who don't know: it is important to make Niko missions on a maximum tier map with maximum quantity.
