Reporting in.... refusing to do the remaining, godawful, RNG-based, time consuming, and worse, kill-this-boss-in-this-specific-manner and/or by this-specific-damage-type challenges.

Well thats not surprising mellee builds are slow as f.. it's only good if you solo forget to think about group party also you have only two choices either you spend most of your ascendancy points on survival for a slow and weak dps build witch you still get killed by one hit from high tier bosses or a faster and higher dps but a useless build ....Thats the reason there are so few play melee builds. Its a joke !!!
that's not a question of speed imho, that's a question of animation cancelling that GGG didn't adress properly. Nobody plays classes requiring animation cancellign to work well.
and the point playing against melee is obviously server lag

It's actually both. Animation cancelling as implemented definitely did more harm than good in some situations, but many (maybe most?) skills also got attack speed penalties built into them. They made it easier to scale damage (which wasn't even melee's biggest issue to start with) and accuracy (a non-issue for most melee builds anyway), then countered that bit of progress by making numerous skills feel worse to play than they did before.

Melee always has some inherent disadvantages compared with ranged and casters, but that doesn't mean it can't be done well overall and be at least nearly as efficient, while still feeling satisfying to play. Nearly every other ARPG/RPG manages to do this, so I don't know why PoE can't. Maybe GGG needs to not only spend more time playing their own game, but also playing/re-visiting others.

I still primarily play melee anyway, however, despite all its flaws. I know I could use "insert almost any bow skill or spell here" and be far more efficient and less disadvantaged. But I simply prefer smashing/stabbing things in the face.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
Well I was not aware that Necro is so popular these days, but in fact I choose this built in that league and definitely not regret that decision
Nice stats we have here.. SeemsGoodMan

tl:dr Yes, congratulations GGG, you have completely eliminated any element of free choice from the game.
Why not start future leagues by simply telling us what class & ascendancy we are going to have to play in order to compete with the new mechanic?

I remember the good old days when I could choose what build I wanted to try and had some faith that it would still be able to competitively play in a new league. Now I simply know that in order to play end game for a few weeks I have to roll the new Meta or else deal with insta deaths.

It's getting old fast.

tons of builds are quite viable. some of them are beginner friendly, some of them are not. summoners were ALWAYS beginner friendly (srs+spectre before, now any summoner is good), and they were good before the buff. u dont have to go meta. so far i made cyclone, scourge arrow (sometimes i was using TS), guardian summoner (3rd char), and now im playing on my miner.

if ur melee is slow, ur build is bad.

40+% NEcro is normal, its the only class able to clean Blight without the super reapy factor, monster a too damn powerfull and with life to risk them at close range, and Minions are the only great option to delay their, as a wall.

Also the 14%+ witch unascendant feel more like :
"we tried Blight with the OP class, but we hate necro style in the end, or we give up before map/50+ because it was too bugged and boring".

But really the fact that only minions can delay so much Blight waves, tank and take care of many sides at the same times its normal NEcro feels great for this mechanic.

I have tried some OP CoC builds or other assassin style, even cyclone for fun, but if i want to do all Blights, its simply not viables, its super speedy on map, but too reapy on Blight encounter. (yeah i'm a pleeb, but so is 95% of players haha)

the one time i played it 5 years ago, necromancer felt like botting.
i don't think it has changed since.

which wouldn't be a problem if ggg hadn't decided to design a league that is only playable as necro to have the time to upgrade click towers.

whos decicion was it to kick melee and channeling skills off the roof?

you're aware that if you make a league that puts aoe at a disadvantage would lead to 90% of your player base to fail it cause you trained them for severa leagues now that aoe or minion stuff always wins?
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

20% of players have completed 12 challenges and earned the Blight Helmet.

by the graph on 1st page....if that is 20%, ur 100% is in fact 180%...i think just 11.11(11)% have finished 12 challenges....

just sayin...

If you have completed 12, 13 or even 40 challenges you have in fact completed at least 12 required for the Blight helmet. Youre looking at those who has completed exactly 12 challenges.

There is no scale on the y axis either so hard to depict any actual percentage based on the chart alone. All histograms on top of eachother would be the scale I believe?
