It's almost 2020(Now its actually 2020) - Lets have Male and Female versions of all classes.
I like the idea, I also made a suggestion about a character creator/editor which would basically take your idea and add a bit more to it. It'd certainly be an attractive feature for people who love the little things in life, those who appreciate all the little details hidden within the game that the more casual/speedrun type players don't necessarely notice.

" Lol no worries on your english, had no problem understanding you. and Ehhhh you could totally have a female paladin but a male amazon would definitely be odd lol so it would instead be something like Barbarian for both genders. Thankfully we don't need to worry about any of the current class names needing changed because they conveniently work for both male and female. " Right? GGG are big enough to get tencents attention they aren't tiny like they were back in the early days and push out content so regularly now its hard for other games to compete, People should remember that tencent acquired league of legends a while back so yeah this is not a minor game anymore ran by a minor company if its warranted tencent to jump on it. " A full on character editor is a big ask but as i've said many times I'd be all for it, Takes care of the male/female choices and hopefully would add some additional customization such as a few hair styles and a few hair/skin colors which anyone who did overlook this game because of character visuals would definitely be further enticed by. " I don't really care about alternate genders or character customizing much, but I need this. I want Clarissa's hair so bad. I'd have the prettiest Marauder. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

" Like I said in my thread, it IS a huge feature to be added and I doubt that it'll make it into the game any time soon but simply having a confirmation on the fact that GGG is considering to add something like it would be huge. It's a feature I wanted to see in the game for pretty much since I've started playing and it'll probably fit into the game much better if we do infact get a complete rework of all (or most) entity models in the game with 4.0. Seeing how many people would like to see this kind of thing in the game now convinces me that we can achieve its addition to the game, as a community, maybe even start a change.org petition (lol). " Clarissa is best girl in general, mixing her with a marauder would most likely result in something called "gorgeous slaughter" or just a stale meme. Either way I'm sure eirikeiken would approve of this. bottomtext

If they are going to use two ragdolls for their physics in the future (f/m) then this will just be automatically implemented.
Currently they all use different dolls so the work would be enormous, while going down to two basic dolls would be solid for mtx development and having easy male and female models for all classes. I could see this being a part of 4.0, they talked about it in the past but have remained silent about it ever since. It's not a high priority for me personally and i think on the GGG front the mtx clipping all over the place with different dolls would be the higher driving factor and the gender option just a secondary bonus and easy "sales pitch". Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

In today's day and age, nobody knows what gender anyone is anymore anyway. Does this really matter now that 202 is coming along?
One day, my ship will come. And with my luck, I'll be waiting at the airport!

I don't get why the laziest possible option - palette swapped alternates using no new animations and minimal if any mesh changes - would be difficult.
For example, palette swap the Scion to a Karui, there's your new Duellist. Templar or Shadow could be a Witch, Ranger or Witch could be a Templar, Duellist or Marauder could be a Scion, and so on. Maybe some slight hair or outfit changes, but you could use the same animations because all characters already have full animation packages for all item types and attacks anyway. I guess the one problem would be that there are currently four male characters and three female ones, but it's not insoluable. I have done a lot of mesh editing and swapping for other games. This is not something that's way out of reach. In fact the biggest barrier would be the need to record new voices. Alternately, just let the player pick their character model from among the seven existing ones. Though again you might want alternate dialogue options. |
