Performance and Stability

Stiff 3 months cycles where you have to deliver something no matter how broken, combined with constant (infinite) growth is a huge mistake.

You guys dug yourself into a hole and every league you dig it deeper. Unless there's a critical shift in your approach all the progress you made in the past 2-3 years will be rolled back and you'll extinguish this game back to a niche title.

This is almost what I exactly wanted to write here. Exact solution is skip a league and fix imo. You can do the best league ever this way too. But majority only play leagues now thx to this system, and thx to std being dead for a long time. So it's too risky move. Right now GGG's solution is changing meta builds every league and then nerfing them after that league. Nobody plays Cyclone this league, Gladiator rate is %1. Completely opposite to last league. If Poe had a real rival... I appreciate the honesty and sharing these problems with us tho. And I still enjoy the league despite all these.

I honestly had zero crashes and my game runs smoothly at 45-55 in high intensity blight encounters. [Removed by Support]
It would seem there is a trend to hate on Blight league, if not for performance issues, then for "bad" rewards. Bad rewards, like seriously? Those must be the braindead degenerates who played whole Legion league with sunglasses on, holding right click while abusing that cancer item, Headhunter.
Fucking pathetic.

Not true, I'm loving blight league. And the first week of this league I had zero issues on two pc's. After the first week, one of the updates/hotfixes started causing my main pc to have reboots during gameplay issues. Like very often(every 5 minutes), as if the gamecliënt is touching something somewhere it really shouldn't.

One of my pc's is still working and I'm enjoying blight very much. I do think the blight monsters have WAY too high health though. But that is not related to performance hehe(although it might reduce some lag if monsters died quicker). Even on necromancers with skeletons, zombies, spectres and SRS I had zero performance issues on two pc's in Blight(now only one).

The fact that GGG is posting about these performance issues also shows it is quite widespread. Kudo's for GGG for making posts like this. I'm not angry or pissed off at all, but I just want it fixed. Although I can understand some players being this somewhat, if they only have one pc to play games on. Which means they cannot avoid the issues.

It is great you are not having any issues, but please keep in mind many other players do.

PS: Insulting people is never a good thing!

If you insist on the current league cadence, can you just not recycle one of the old leagues while you concentrate on fixing some of the current performance issues?

It doesn't even have to be a straight up recycle, you can tweak some aspects. Still it would save you a significant amount of dev time.
FINALLY,

I was really pissed this league about the performance issues and to say the truth, although nothing really changed at this point yet, I'm less pissed. At least, GGG admits that they have messed up, they know and they will be more careful with the future leagues.

THANK YOU FOR THAT !

"Client Memory Usage
We have noticed unusually high memory usage, likely due to loading too many game assets. We believe this may be causing performance issues and we are investigating."

I have also recently noticed that the memory usage is all over the place, such loads especially in town never happened before. Please, resolve this.

Stupid PoE2 Particle System Patch...

New mute system is another hot garbage.

Not really, I'm gonna be happy when they fix the issues. But for now, it's a good start.

well then I guess you noticed that they are actually doubling down on 4.0.. they already said it will be 1 year from now..

sure I give them some points for transparency other companies might ignore it and throw some "hotfixes" but performance on the game was always on the wrong foot.. stability went worse when blight launched with one of the "it was one of the smoothest launches we have ever had" legion that was in 3.7 feels worse in 3.8, memory is all out of the place, constantly loading things that we already loaded, taking twice as long in some cases and now even crashing GPU drivers.

after this post, I don't feel safe to even log back to the game even more after some posts here..
I'm not "mad" at the league it's just not for me because arpgs + td = blight was the result, now that we all experienced it they have to make a decision.
3.8 was a good qol patch overall.

We observed that on physical game servers with different numbers of game instances, the number of dropped frames per instance was not higher on more heavily-loaded servers. This showed that the problem is related to specific instances utilising an entire CPU core for more than 33ms, rather than the server itself having too many instances on it.

I know that GGG is rolling out another server provider aside from SoftLayer.

In Legion, I had constant issues with instances on SoftLayer servers, but very rarely had issues on the new hardware.

Is there a way to set a flag such that I only spawn instances on non-SoftLayer servers?
GGG thanks for the information. But as you said the console version is almost unplayable, I crashed like 20 times in 3 hours of gameplay. I love your game, but I won't buy another supporter pack until the game is stable, even though I really want to.
I hope you solve this issues as soon as possible,

Best regards.
honestly i havent had any issues the last 2 leagues.. hated the Synthesis league though.. and left it the first week.. played some GD instead.. Legion was a blast.. and Blight is good to.. rewards are gettin there for Blight.. 8200 hours in.. and other than not getting a Mirror yet.. this is the only game i religiously played for the last 6 years.. is it perfect? nope.. but it is fun as hell.. some of you should have been here when Desync was a thing.. now that was a nightmare.. GGG has come a long way.. and i will keep playing as long as they keep the servers going..
