That's cool. I'm a huge fan of 1 button builds too. I actually need them myself for medical reasons. By no means feel obligated to pass on my builds to her, but by the end of the league, I'll have 6 guides that will cater to the "super-relaxed" and "1 button" playstyle. The builds may not interest her, but at least she'll have the options if she has a hard time finding more builds like the one she's currently on. I'm personally the kind of person that can play the same build forever.

In regards to RF, Damage Over Time skills do not Hit. So anytime you see a skill or ailment that deals Damage Over Time, remember that they don't hit. (Which is why Fire Penetration Support doesn't work with RF.) EE requires HITS to have itself applied to enemies. So RF will never change the Resists of EE. With my build specifically, I didn't choose EE (though I'll be adding it for 3.9) because I have a lot of automatically casted skills that give great offence and defence but all hit with fire damage. So you could Leap Slam into a group of people if you have Cold Damage added to your attacks and apply the positive aspects of EE. It'll just get nullified once our low-level CwDT casts spells...which is often. So that's where Cyclone is a huge improvement. It'd CONSTANTLY be hitting with cold damage. So the CwDT spells will have their negative aspects nullified quickly.

Does that make sense?

This explains a lot, and now I understand fully what the intention is and how to make it work. I will try to see if I can work it into the build after a few more tweaks. Things have been a little busy, so I probably won't get to it until weekend or next week. I'll try to make you proud!

Ha ha ha. You'll do great :). I'm glad it makes sense. Have a great week.

Hey there, just wanted to say thanks for the build; this carried me to my first level 90 HC character relatively smoothly. I have to say I think I was pretty fortunate to find all the gear I have; I didn't play SSF but I might as well have.

I found blight and Alva encounters to be very frustrating but outside of that this build definitely works as advertised. I ended up swapping Cyclone for Shield Charge for what I feel is a lot more mobility.

Thanks again!

I will work on getting to 90 and trying Uber Elder by the end of the day. I MIGHT edit this post with that video.

Will not do Uber Elder tonight. I want to get to 90 and get the last passive node before I try that.

Edit2: Hit 90 doing some delving, put Holy Fire in, then tried Uber Elder. Holy crap it's difficult for a melee character. So much degen on the ground, no place safe to stand. Either I try to tank a hit and stand close enough to hit the appropriate boss, or run around trying to avoid everything and never get a hit in. So um ... I need to find tons more defense before I can even waste another set of frags on that again.

How do you level this build?

I'm level 54, and I'm doing close to zero damage.

But I'm unkillable.

How do I do enough damage to kill stuff for the next 10 levels until I can equip the Max Fire Resistance Shield and then use RF.

Thanks Zen5034. That's very kind of you to take the time to be so encouraging. Great job getting to 90 on HC with RF! That's awesome! I'm glad you like the build! Let me know if you have any advice or suggestions for the build/guide.

Awesome job on all those battles AceOfJacks1! Thanks for the videos (and the mentions)! I love actually seeing how people play these builds.

The Shaper and Elder guardians are harder than any of the Shaper battles with the mods they can roll. You did awesome. The key to Uber Elder is kill the Squid Thingies as fast as possible. They are the ones that squirt that DoT damage on the ground. They are the highest priority. Besides that, it's just as hard/easy as the normal Shaper fight. It just takes getting used to the mechanics of the fight and knowing which boss is vulnerable/invincible.

Awesome job! And all before and at 90!

Hey whiite94. I actually level with RF and just stay on top of my life flasks. It's not what I'd do in HC (which I don't play) but I find it works really well once you have Inexorable and Life Regeneration per Endurance Charge on the tree. Well, those and the ascendancy node you've chosen first. Holy Flame Totem is more of a support for defence than it is offensive (though enemies it ignites will give RF more damage too). OH! I'm not sure where you are in the story yet, but if you've killed the spider boss in Act...7(?) you can then select the Pantheon option, Soul of Abberath. That'll help with RF.

If you're not up for RF (don't forget you can use the Vaal version of the skill without sustaining the normal skill) your setup with Consecrated Path is an excellent choice in damage and sustaining RF. The only issue is hitting enemies. We don't focus on accuracy at all with this build. Keep in mind RF doesn't deal more damage to you if you add supports to it. So one thing you could do is get RF in a four-link, and then maybe cast Purifying Flame manually for the Consecrated Ground everywhere. It can be kept low level (may as well stop it at level 12 if you're following the guide to a T).

Does that help? I have a section in the guide called Trying to Sustain RF as Early as Possible that may help if you haven't read it yet. My preference is to level with RF because we put very little investment into other damage nodes that help anything but RF.

Let me know how it goes.

Since I'm on a way to have almost all of WoD builds at bay, I'm leveling this build too atm. I'm lvl 60ish, and can tell the damage is not existent, I have hard time to kill even basic rares ... with CP as a melee skill. I find CP is super clunky, takes too much mana for doing negligible damage, and moves you out of fight constantly. The solution for me was to switch Cyclone once I got the dex requirement. This way I can finally do some harm, but most importantly I can cast totems why channeling. And I use Firestorm for leveling instead of HF. You can cast that too while Cyclone is up.

I'm sure I won't drop Cyclone once the build gets online for anything. I can use Kaom's rings if I need more regen that the tree or other gear provides.

Hey mitbanomen. Any improvement? Are you running RF? RF is great damage while levelling if you can sustain it. There's a section in the guide that gives some hints on how to keep it up.

Your post was a few days ago. How's the build progressing?
