"Brown! It's awesome to see you again! Thanks so much for your good wishes. I really appreciate it! It's the slow decline of my medical situation and getting older. 'Tis the season for decline for me. All is good. I trust in the hand that God has dealt me :). I hope your unintended break from the game was for a good reason! My best to you and yours no matter the situation. You're a wonderful person! So, here's the thing with Trigger Happy. It's slow. The only way to get decent damage out of it is with epic gear. Finding a weapon with T1 or T2 mods (https://poedb.tw/us/One_Hand_Axes#ModifiersCalc) for both "% increased Physical Damage" and "Adds # to # Physical Damage" is tough...but the goal nonetheless. Another Steel Ring, gloves can roll offensive mods...You've made some really good tweaks to the build! Outside of the weapon though, the other possible changes are helpful to squeak out damage, but are not required. I like what you've done. I don't see any of the additions as a hindrance at all. I like your Anointed amulet, too! A couple of things to remember is that the deeper you go into the game, the harsher the enemies get. So your trigger and counter skills will be much more active (pending cooldowns). Also, though most of your skills are either level 19 or 20, your main two, EarthShatter and General's Cry are still really low. That's where all of the base damage comes from. The damage will get better for sure...but you're right, damage will be low. It's the nature of the build. You could also level a couple of other slam skills in your second weapon set. Many of these skills (https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Slam)will likely do more damage on a consistent basis. The second stage of Earthshatter isn't guaranteed to hit its single target. I hope that helps a bit! Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement :). I really hope you're doing alright! https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

Thank you so much for such a prompt reply. Merry Christmas.
So, if I understand correctly, modifiers like "increased physical damage" and "adds X to physical damage" are going to be the modifiers I want to seek out? Thanks. That helps a lot. I wasn't 100% on if that would work since most of the damage is reactive. Yes, a few a my main skill gems are quite low. The ones that aren't are ones that I found in my stash or cannibalized from another character. I'm sure as those gems get higher, it will help. I did place 6x Vengeance gems in my backup weapons. I figured I'd start with trying for a 21/23 of that one first. According to my skill menu, Vengeance had the highest dps. I'll try to work on getting upgrades today. Thanks again. Edit: Naive question perhaps, but is it possible to poison an enemy via the reactive counter attacks in the Trigger build? I ran a tier X map successfully and then did a loaded t16 corrupted map. For the most part, the build hekd up - including the vaal side area. There were however quite a few unkillable enemies. I'm guessing the answer is no, but just thought I'd ask... Hi, I would just like to wish everybody a very Happy Christmas. Take care and God bless to all.

"Merry Christmas to you too, Brown! Chaos and Physical HITS can poison. So you can add Poison and/or Chaos to the build if you like. Just keep in mind, Brutality negates all non-physical damage to its linked skill. You'll likely need some extra Dex if you're going poison too. With Attack based skills, we maximize our damage output but combining both the base flat damage ("added") and "increased" % damage of the tags listed on the gems. This game can get quite convoluted, but with the Trigger Happy build it's pretty straightforward. Counter-Attack skills act the same as normal Attack skills. " Wrecker I hope that you are not in this awful weather that I am watching on the news. I remember the trouble you had last time. One way or the other please you and your family stay safe. That goes for any others that may be caught up in it as well. |

"Thanks, Smokey <3 . That's very thoughtful of you. We're safe and warm which is more than enough. Many others have needed to go to shelters, so we're very fortunate. Thanks for always being so thoughtful and kind :) . https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Dec 26, 2022, 2:53:53 PM

So, after a couple days off, I picked up my controller. I swapped out that chest I was wearing and replaced with a Cospri's Will. This provides a 60% chance to poison enemy on hit - provided that the enemy is cursed - which they should always be. Don't ask how much currency I spent to color it 6x red sockets lol. My question is ... well, first: is that a good chest for what I'm trying to do? Second: would vile toxin support be a better 6th gem instead of rage support (or other)? Thx
