Animation canceling is [Removed by Support]! - it must be optional!

Apparently shit is not a bad enough word to be removed so it must have been something spicy!

Btw agreed of course but agreeing means little considering GGG does not care about anything other than pulling off the next league and cosmetics.

The problem with this strategy is - that eventually people will stop feeling like game is worth supporting. Personally - I already feel this way.

They hit the nail with the league, but there were so many bugs the first one or two weeks were very rough and personally I can't support it even if they throw nice packs or individual mtx. I came by the bugs quite calmly, but n-th week of dealing with obnoxious animation canceling just accumulated so much of inner anger I really cannot enjoy league anymore.

I was now at lvl 86 with my ice nova cast from frostbolt, but I can't take anymore canceling out every second frostbolt. If it stays like this, I will only consider build playable if it has 10+ casts/attacks per second.... I have invested a lot in cast speed and frostbolt is supported with faster casting, which brings it to 0.32 cast time, yet it's not enough to avoid canceling out it and there is nothing I can really do to make it feel better to play.

I mean seriously - when I click E (frostbold button) I want the skill bound to the button to reliably go off, but it doesn't if I hit ice nova too quickly soon after (which is btw the way to play the build...).

Now when I think how many times animation canceling saved my skin across 4 different characters - it's about ZERO times. How many times I almost died or died because I canceled unintentionally something - COUNTLESS times.

For me personally - the game never felt so bad and annoying to play since start of open beta, because when I hit button in the past - the skill was going off and it felt very reliable, now it's complete opposite.

I really do hope they won't be ignorant on this matter and improve it a lot with ideally making it optional - which is good compromise between people who hate it and people who somehow find good use of this mechanic.
it never occured to me that one could play the game by permanently pressing the key for the movement skill and occasionally pressing the attack/spell key.
i ever alternated between the two.

looks like this also came as a surprise to the devs cause the first complaints came from reddit's speed meta fanbois.

animation canceling should be optional. leap slamming now feels like my slayer is on drugs as he's hovering above the ground between the slams independent from whether i make the skill attack in place or not.

thats not how i play, and im not a speed meta player.

Im still cancelling over 50% of earthquakes I try and attack with, I simply cant cast a golem in battle, the list goes on and on.
So when the patch to remove it?
If I dont reply to you - I dont give a flying duck about your opinion

If you dont reply to me - I dont care either because I dont come back to see who replied to me

if history is anything to go by around march 2021, when ggg finally realise what were telling them right now is correct.

I doubt they will remove it. Considering how much effort they put into doing it in the first place, then bigging it up with demonstrations of auto attacks against hillock (try not to laugh) on the podcast.

I suspect they only tested it up to lvl 10 and with ggg being so stubborn i think its here to stay.

If they only tested it up to level 10 then they grossly failed. I know they've had issues in the past with not testing enough (and often still do because certain interactions get missed), but I would at least hope they'd test setups with very high attack, cast, and movement speed and with all kinds of different spell and attack setups.

One of the things I find particularly galling is they made cyclone channelling yet didn't fix it so it wouldn't cause the server to kick people for too many actions. As if they don't have a way to test such loads on a server, especially if considering there might be 50% or more players using the same skill.
if this game had animation cancelling from the start then part of the big lets fix melee rework would have been stopping characters being able to cancel the first use of their skill in order to make non channel melee builds feel better to play. Thats the sad truth.

This will come in PoE 6.3, don't worry.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
