Animation canceling is [Removed by Support]! - it must be optional!

Remove it completely if u dont wanna make it optinal
If I dont reply to you - I dont give a flying duck about your opinion

If you dont reply to me - I dont care either because I dont come back to see who replied to me
ya, its so bad that its literally making entire styles of characters unplayable for me, and i think every build ive tried so far has in some way suffered from it while 0 of them have in any way benefited from it.

change it, toggle it or remove it, thats the only options, this cannot stay in the game in this state.
Voting for toggle option to disable animation cancelling for the skills within the userinterface.
thats the best route right? like the attack in place button.

I understand what they were trying to do with it, but the 'problem' with melee is that in endgame you attack the whole screen 8 times per second or you dont have a build that is in any way competitive.

i dont rly think the mechanics were ever that much of an issue, back when the game was slower the problem was desync, mainly thanks to movement skills being able to namelock attack mobs, that was literally causing 80% of the desync for serious endgame players. Thats why melee was awful when the game was able to accommodate 'proper' melee, and now the game simply cant accommodate that playstyle because of screen nuke speedclear standards.

The post skill use cancels help a little bit early game or with builds that will always be thought of as bad... ok, i mean good that its there. The price of making endgame anywhere from frustrating to actually unplayable with certain build types is unacceptable.

it worries me that theyre so stubborn and dont listen tho. I wrote a post back in probably 2013 explaining why movement skills were causing most of the desync. If you use attack in place with shift you shouldnt be able to desync yourself because your player cannot move to the mob. But movement skills being able to namelock because theyre technically attacks is causing peoples move skills to move them towards an enemy who is always out of sync slightly on their screen and hence regardless of diligent use of attack in place people will always go out of sync on a char that has whirling blades, leapslam, lightning warp etc. I explained to them that you need to be able to toggle targeting on these move skills if you are always using them simply for mobility. I posted about the moveskill targeting repeatedly for years, and rly we should have had an always attack in place lock option for our main skills.

they didnt listen.

then came lockstep and solved desync another way.

then, after all that, they add an attack in place button that also has the functionality of removing mob targeting from your movement skills...

lmao. Just adding that 5 years before hand when we were in the forums telling them they needed to would have cut out the majority of desync issues for endgame players for that entire time up till lockstep was added. It was such a no brainer, why didnt they add it?

please do not fix this awful issue with animation cancelling 3, 4, 5 years from now. It is horrible, do something about it sooner rather than later.

If you noticed, I underlined 2 words though.

Still, that was informative thank you, I did not expect it to go that far back.
I won't stop pointing out when people use the word "literal" in such a stupid way though (some might use it as "figuratively" in a more .. "careful" way of course, not the OP here though for sure), but I guess that's my opinion (that you seem to be partly sharing).

Spoiler
For sure, words change their meanings and acquire additional ones over time, but we can resist these if we think that doing so will help preserve a useful distinction. So it is with literally. If you want your words to be taken seriously – at least in contexts where it matters – you might see the value in using literally with care.

Well, I said this on purpose (the word literally) - because I when I get really pissed I feel like my organism releases some bad enzymes that may lead to this. I wouldn't call it any neurotic or psychiatric disease just of yet, since I can calm down one way or another, but I get really nervous I feel bad physically - and such states can lead to actual cancer - it was never meant to be received in offensive form. My grand mother died from this disease and I never joke about it.

I just just wanted to directly how much it can piss me off - and I really never complained about PoE's gameplay, like ever before (it being clumsy, clunky, unresponsive etc). This shit literally throws me off, because it's beyond my understanding how something that feels so bad can be called by developer a massive buff and to be accent of patch 3.7 - and playing especially my latest ice nova boils my nerves (which is probably hard to understand if someone doesn't have issues with, lets call it, anger management). I must cast frostbolt, spam ice nova and spam 4 flasks. If I press ice nova too fast - my frostbolt is canceled and I'm casting it on myself, which nearly always means almost dying - which can throw me of the rails very fast if it happens too often (because in 6 years I play this game it never had so absurd problems which is basically two steps backwards in gameplay fluidity). I've actually decided to end this league, because I just can't take it anymore.

So I'm sorry if someone got offended by that wording - this was never my intention, but GGG already edited it before I could, so it's not an issue anymore. Just wanted to explain myself and my reasoning behind it and apologize for it sounding offensive - I really didn't want it to be received in such way by people.
Are you seriously telling us that you have an anger disorder that is being triggered by PoE ? ( I used to have anger issues, much less now, but I definitely would not over a video game now, at least not real anger, not something significant )
I feel more let down by GGG than angry, that's how I've been feeling for a while now.

Fair enough, I'm also getting easily triggered because I oversee/hear people say that "this is cancer !" or "this is aids !" and ... well ...

Regarding the issue here, I also created a thread about it I think, as Snorkle pointed out we need something like a toggle per skill for this, but apparently this could be technically hard to implement ... we don't really know about that.
But yeah, I find that change quite bad too, although I am still playing EQ, I just really dislike when vaal skills don't go off ... fortunately my latest character isn't affected much by it if at all, but that does not remove the problem of course.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

why has the 1k balance team meme squad once again failed to keep this game in order?

presumably same reason theyve been failing for the last 5 years straight.

beast netting system too bloated? synth league too convoluted? 120% phys as extra ele offhands too overpowered?... well who knew?

I knew. I always know.

you know who didnt know? anyone the devs actually listened to before it was too late.

You seriously think that they didn't know any of this ?

What about they don't care and their purpose has always been to hype and grossly put emphasis on crap they want people to use, while messing up the balance because they already gave up on it ?

Or a bit of both, I would think that it's a bit of both to be honest.
Lack of knowledge/awareness + lack of actually caring about the balance because that is not what they want to achieve.

Saying that aloud is entertaining stuff. The thought of Support having that much power!

Yet another thread proving that what Exiles might have in moxie they sure lack in style and grace. If only someone who could get through to the devs agreed with the animation-cancelling-sucks crowd. If only...I wonder why this hasn't happened yet. Hm.

BTW I made it to level 11 the other day.

That title made my cry out loud.
Sometimes the placeholder text-snippets can create an unintended hilarity.

Btw

They should also rework animation queueing.
Skills like Leap Slam feel horrible when you jump to the complete opposite direction your are pointing.

I must say, this "[Removed by Support]" in the topic name makes any topic so much more intriguing. What was there that was removed? So many words come to mind, its almost like a puzzle.
