For Arcane Surge, it depends on what you will be doing most. For bosses, you will want to keep the gem in so you can keep Arcane Surge up permanently, since bosses won't afford you as many random minions to kill to keep the buff up. If you map/delve mostly, then you can drop the gem and replace with faster casting.

As for Impresence, you are correct that the mana reservation serves to make it free when linked to Blasphemy. If you do this, you get to drop Bane completely from your setup. It's a huge boost to quality of life, since you never have to manually cast your curse, and it's just permanently up.

So I switch to perfect form. I want to boss as much as finish the atlas for the extra sextant (maybe give uber elder a try, but not a must) and mainly farm monoliths. I dropped the 4 points behind acro but you mentioned dropped the other four from revenge of the hunted, why is that? Just curious as I thought acro was a pretty good survivability buff, but maybe not for 4 points...

You can look at my setup which is far from ideal but works for now, I have to clean it up a bit later today.

I started with Ziz's build but like this more so it's in between. I made the switch to Perfect Form, and with a little more plus its %dex increase I was able to hit 222 for my bow. I did have to pick up the 30 dex fatty but don't think that's so bad, it gives some evasion and I save multiple nodes from avoiding Acrobatics. You might be able to avoid this, or take it and skip the points near the bottom (I'm going for Survivalist).

My only form of gear dex is the citrine amulet implicit. I only ran a couple maps to test before sleeping so didn't have time to get a quiver which could be a great option.

I also got some ideas from the top ED builds on poe.ninja, open a few up and check the tree for bow/form users.

Quick note for anyone grabbing a bow, keep in mind that due to the +levels even a level 1 Empower adds a significant amount of DPS. I ran out of chaos so picked up a level 2 for now and will swap it out to level up when I can afford a corrupted level 3.

I'm new to Trickster but my take on it is that Phase Acrobatics is amazing but Acrobatics is necessary to get there. It comes with so many downsides, it isn't worth taking if you can get Phase Acrobatics alone, since it makes you weaker against other things.

Hello, new PoE player here have a few noob question,
i have been following this class build guide with other few tweak from others build as well,,

i am interest for start making bow right now for longer investment/progression obviously cz i kinda enjoying this one,
my question, is there any way to get that much currency to craft/buy that? bcz i kinda stuck there on farming some currency,
any tips, or specific thread explaining about currency progression, i am open for suggestion
currently i still on story act 8, lvl 62 now, and still wip and continue playing, feel free to check my character eq on my profile, i got my tabula when lvl up my necro and got prophecy drop from monster, lol, that's why i take courage to build this class

just for info, i found and start play this game exactly at the end of synthesis league, been making some class with all written guide on this forum and some ytb build, highest lvl of my character is tecto slam jugg lvl 71, right after hit what ppl call it mapping or endgame content, im start confusing bcs i dont know what to do, no quest, lack explanation about what to do, where to get the map beside buying from the npc, etc.

Just play the game to get currency, don't even think about endgame gear before reaching maps. You can get very far with only a basic NACDOT wand and 5L body armour (I cleared maps to T13 on crappy gear like that in my mid 80s, it was annoying but possible).

Use the chaos recipe to start getting a bankroll, hope for some random exalt drops and uniques. Sell currency you don't need like regret orbs and random div cards. Stay on early maps and farm monoliths if you can't proceed. Don't sit in the hideout and worry about money or optimising things because usually you're just wasting time - it's better to just run more maps, you'll pick up a few chaos worth of currency on each plus drops.

If you want another option you can try buying div cards or fated prophecies and sell the results, but trading takes a lot of time so it's not always worth it.

I started this league following Ziz's ED build, and just cleared up to guardians with minimal investment in my gear so far.

I'm trying to decide on what to upgrade/respec next, since I've had some difficulties surviving against some legion rares and endgame bosses. I noticed Ziz updated his build guide with grabbing acrobatics and using restless ward instead of perfect form now.

What are your thoughts on that for anyone who's seen/tried that type of setup?

I play Softcore, so more damage is always welcomed as long as I still have solid defensives.


I plan to make a ED bow, I just bought a 6l no-implicit bow for 18c, and managed to get the mod with 150 alts/2 annuls only. Used about 360 chromes so far to color it, will buy some more later tomorrow after I get the crafted mods on it likely.

Also I plan to grab atziri boots and set them up when I respec to Ziz's new tree. (Or if any suggest against doing that?)


Just wanted to see how everyone else is running their ED builds for endgame and such.

I think im doing something wrong, even though so far till maps t13-14 ive no problem.

My next steps are:
1.Trying to 5L my Perfect form, and drop Acro/Phase Acro thats 5 points.
2.Get a Rare Helmet with Essence drain enchant and metacraft with Fossils for 3.-9%chaos resistances
Get a pair of rare gloves with Non-ailment and multimod it.
4. Get a Neck with Chaos dmg/Non-ailment
5.Get a Watchers eye with Malevolence effect on Non-ailment

6.Im thinking since im dropping Acrobatics to keep MoM/Eldritch since i believe it provides a great layer of defence. and i believe Wicked Ward helps there.

7.Also im thinking of dropping Clear Mind jewel since it provides like 10% increased dmg and add flesh and stone/Zealotry/Dread banner, and Keep Malevolence in my essence worm. And since no Acrobatics ES will grow more since no penalty.

8.Also Drop Overcharge with Intuitive Leap gem, since killing Monolith Mobs to free them doesnt generate any Charges, although it does provide some quality of life in the clear mode of maps. Still unsure about that!

9.and something that im confused with, some people 5link Vaal Blight/blight Gem on chest piece, and get spell totems with Wither on a 4link. Does that make sence? My thought was that you either get a 5link self cast blight with Spreading Rot gem on setup, or a 5pseudo with alleopathy again with with spreading rot gem, right? and i guess you still get the 15 stacks of wither with both of these way, you need wither totems and blight selfcast to get the maximum?

With your current setup, you should be able to get pretty far. I'd estimate your tooltip in game to be ~100k dot DPS with current gear. You can clear all way up to t15 with that since you're also using Allelopathy gloves. Your ED/Contagion should clear trash mobs, but you just have to be more liberal with Blight usage on bosses/rares. Blight, when channeled, can do more than ED plus it inflicts withered which at max stacks doubles your damage. So ED + Blight channel is almost 4 times as much damage as ED alone.

Eventually you absolutely want the bow. Those two mods you mention are correct, along with non-ailment chaos dot multi and increased cast speed/arcane surge on kill.

Carcass Jack is better for monoliths. Queen of the Forest is probably better for Delve or other enclosed spaces that don't benefit AoE as much. I tailored build to AoE with purpose of mostly open area mapping and Legion content farming, so that's where I took it.

:D Bro, now I really think that I did something wrong. Yesterday, after upgrading some stuff (carcass jack, lvl21 gems and finally empower 3), i reached 30k for the first time. You say I should have 100k? How is that even possible.
I think my current wand is holding me back. Also, i dont use one single jewel that highers my DPS. I think thats the next step today after work.

So yesterday I bought a carcass jack for monolith farming and its cool.
Today I was gonna get the bow and I just realized that I am supposed to use it for my ED 6link (because of the empower stacking). Now i have two 6 links then, but I do not need the 6 link in my carcass, i actually need 2 3links instead of 1 more 6link. But if course I do not break the 6link on carcass, that would be stupid. What should I use my second 6link in the body armor for?
Make Contagion 6 link? Then i have ED and Contagion both as a 6link.
And i use helmet, boots and gloves for my other utility i guess.

Are you reading the hit damage on ED (which doesn't matter much) or the damage per second? My tooltip DPS is 145k with buffs on in hideout.
