Hey tanshihlek,

CI always requires a different mentality in combat cause there isn't any immediate flask help if you get low on "health". I think 2k ES is fine for CI (depending where you are in the game). You just have to get used to the "get in and get out" style of play.

So that being said, the only thing I can suggest for gear is high resists and high ES. I now it sounds lame, but that's it. Including travel nodes, close to half of the tree is ES nodes. So the life/defense is there. Sorry for the mundane answer.

Don't be discouraged though. Sometimes it's just the Dungeon Crawler life...crap drops. Unless you Hardcore, you could always try CI to try it out and just use an Orb of Regret if you don't like it.

Hey thanks man, I just want some assurance LOL. Also, I forgot to ask if any nodes on the skill tree gives us 'gain energy shield on hit'. I know from ascendancy, we get ES recharge after 4 seconds. I think that's it for now. Is it ok if I PM you in future if I have more questions? Or do you prefer this way?

Thank you. Really appreciate the build(its fun) and your time. Always wanted a lazy hitter build lol

ES on Hit kinda exists. It's ES Leech. I don't have any intentionally on our tree though as my build focuses on Damage Over Time, which doesn't hit. You're welcome to make any additions you want to the tree of course.

ES naturally regens after 2 seconds of not taking damage. Our Ascendancy gives us ES Regen, not recharge. Recharge is referring to the natural way ES recharges (the way ES is works for everyone). Regen is percentage based (based on whatever perks that causes it) and happens whether or not you're taking damage. Does that make sense/clear things up?

It's more helpful for everyone else if you post here, as there are always people that don't post who learn from other people's posts/replies. But you're more than welcome to PM.

I appreciate your post and the time you took to be thankful. I hope you enjoy it just as much once you go CI :).

Doesn't taking EE in the tree cause a resistance issue, since all our spells are cold based? I'm new though, so am I missing something?

Hey cliznot,

Good observation. EE would conflict with the build the way that I have it setup. Are you referring to a post where someone was talking about EE or did I accidentally put EE in my description? Let me know if I did and I'll fix it right away.

It quite common to mix up EE (Elemental Equilibrium) and EO Elemental Overload.(So let me know if I did that somewhere.) They are close to each other on the tree. This build uses EO. EO gives bonus elemental damage to your entire build if you've crit in the last 8 seconds. The consequence to that huge damage is that your build doesn't get any extra damage from crits.

But ya, we're using EO, not EE.

Does that help? Also, since you're new, I hope you're loving PoE. We'd all love you to stay in PoE Land no matter which builds you play so please ask any questions you like and we'll do what we can to help.

Good question by the way.

Thought I saw it on the tree, I may have read the wrong one too. I'll double check. I get the two crossed up too.
Any thoughts on what could make a great Delve build that is also easy and relaxing?

Are you referring to tweaking this build or are you asking about any build that exists?

With lots of ES, this build does well in Delve. My other three builds are relaxing to play in Delve too. But I focus on accommodating my preferences and needs. My builds work really well for Delve, but there are way better Delve specific builds out there. Not sure about relaxing though.

What did you level with until you were able to use Vortex at level 28?

Hey zteacher,

I like Frostbolt but use anything you like. The spells for the Witch at the beginning all work really well. This build was almost a Frostbolt build...

Hey Everyone,

I think I figured out a solution to both: my internal conflict between two skills I want to both be my main skill, and the vulnerability of possibly taking big damage before our curses go off. I'll be trying the changes tonight in-game but I figured I'd share them to see what others think of it.

Vortex's DoT will still be the main focus on DPS.

5 link - Vortex
4 link - Bane-Temporal Chains-Enfeeble-Frostbite
4 link - CwDT 1-Temporal Chains 5-Enfeeble 5-Frostbite 5
4 link - CwDT 1-Cold Snap 7-Arctic Breath8-Phase Run 3
3 link - CwDT 1-Frost Bomb 10-Bonechill 20
3 link - Discipline-Malevolence-Clarity 4

- Adding Bane gives us an easy "one-button" way to cast all three curses and still maintain max curse efficiency (gem quality).
- Having the same three curses on a low level CwDT gem ensures that the damage bonuses the ascendancy gives us are applied to enemies even if we don't have the time to cast Bane. (I'll be testing tonight to see how curses override each other...if it's the most recently casted curse or the strongest curse.)
- We still have to skills that have the chance of initiating Elemental Overload. Phase Run is great for survivability but adding a third spell that hits or improving crit chance is also being considered.
- Considering the last statement, I'm still rolling around the options between Elemental Focus, Concentrated Effect, and Controlled Destruction in the Vortex 6 link.

With Vortex's DPS still priority, the passive tree doesn't need to change at all. But tonight I am going to try removing the 4 AoE nodes just North of the Witch's starting point and adding them to Path of the Savant and the 3 nodes around Entropy. We'll see how it goes.

Let me know what you think.
