As for why they stated not to have added fire damage is there build has EE (Elemental Equilibrium) and by doing fire dmg will cause it to not work in there favor. This build we don't use EE on the passive tree since we are using Holy Flame Totem.


On the other question I will copy and paste what is in the build notes.

In case you didn't notice, RF can't be sustained right away. To sustain it as soon as possible without needing any gear (except links) try the following:

- Select all the nodes as they come. Get all the south nodes first, then work your way up. Don't skip any.
- Equip and start leveling your Stone Golem as soon as it's available.
- Equip and start leveling your Purity of Fire as soon as it's available.
- Equip and start leveling your Holy Relic as soon as it's available.
- Use the multiple methods the build uses to fight on Consecrated Ground.
- By the time you kill Arakaali (the Spider Boss in Act 7) you can select the Pantheon option that unlocks (Soul of Arakaali). Have that and the minor God, Soul of Abberath selected.
- Doing the first two Ascendancies wouldn't hurt.
- Get those Endurance charges up :).

You can sustain RF with gear in other ways of course, I just thought you'd like to know the soonest you can run RF no matter your gear.

Good answer by Quicksilver27025. Just to explain why I don't use EE: Almost every RF build will use Elemental Equilibrium in their builds and rightly so! It's a very strong offensive node with no negative trade off. The reason that I don't use EE is because I LOVE the defensiveness of Consecrated Ground. Consecrated Ground in itself doesn't conflict with EE in anyway but every skill that creates Consecrated Ground is a Fire skill which does conflict with RF and EE. Does that make sense?

Hey arcastle56,

I'm not sure if something changed or if it's been wrong since my original RF guide, but according to the wiki, the Marauder doesn't naturally get Elemental Focus until Siosa (Act 3) or Lily (Act 4). So the guide is incorrect (I'll change it right away) and you weren't doing anything wrong. I don't remember all the gems that are available at that point in the game, but as far as I remember RF doesn't really have any supports that work with it until Siosa (unless you trade for them).

Your question isn't a noob question at all. It's the classic dilemma of offense vs. defense :). Your suggestion of changing the curse works perfectly. Elemental Weakness and Flammability will do the same damage boost while Despair will do a little bit less. But all three will boost your damage. Nothing wrong with offense as long as you're staying alive.

Does RF work with this helmet https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Hrimnor's_Resolve

If it does it seems quite nice to be immune to chill/frozen.
Vaal keystone Divine Flesh All Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield
50% of Elemental Damage taken as Chaos Damage

+10% to maximum Chaos Resistance

Its possible to get 86% chaos resistance (and even more chaos resist against damage over time) I think this is a good option for life RF builds.

Couple that with

Karui keystone Tempered by War 50% of Cold and Lightning Damage taken as Fire Damage
50% less Cold Resistance
50% less Lightning Resistance

Would make the build pretty tanky against everything but physical damage which is easy to solve with Armour gear and maybe some shield nodes for block.

Might be able to shoot for more aoe/damage now since we'd be more tanky to everything else.

That's an awesome helmet for this build! It has low life, but the perks are awesome! Good find. Currently I don't think Holy Flame Totem is working as a "Fire Skill" with that helmet mod or our Ascendancies. But that'd be a bug I would hope they fix soon.

Very good options. Chaos damage isn't that noticeable when you have lots of life regen but then all of a sudden you die and can't figure out why until you realize it was Chaos. It's a sneaky one with life regen.
