Hmmm so this could actually have a really strong use for SRS.

SRS at level 20 has 277 average damage per hit, Smita aura at level 30 adds an average damage of 252. With the 15% less damage effect, thats still 214 added average damage. Thats not including Generosity or Empower either.

On a duration stacking build (because that works reasonably well with srs), plus Increased duration, you can get smite duration to 11-12 seconds pretty easily.

Add to that fact that the aura (according to PoB) granted by this skill also counts as an aura for Necros passive commander of darkness.

To put things into perspective here, I put together a quick build, with a level 30 Smite linked with Increased duration + Generosity + Empower.

This wep ads ~54k dps to each srs.

Just to be clear, its 135k shaper dps per srs, with each srs lasting 13 seconds.

Im actually really glad everyone is shitting on it.. it means it will be cheap.

It also opens up a heap of other item based minion builds, because aside from Spiders, most of them really lack decent dps

Yeah it is, I checked yours out and since I was in PoB decided to set up my first build in it. I'm at 1.231M total, not vaal hasted, and only counting having half the phantasms up. I'm assuming once I get near peak it'll be about 1.8M.

Edit: On a side note, I'll have 32 minions of 4 different kinds. I'll be maining a legion for legion.

Edit again: Geez, I completely forgot Vaal Summon Skeleton was a thing. This is going to be a lot better than I thought.

This item is dogshit. Most people don't even know that smite exists, and having a 4-link level 30 smite won't convince them to play it.

Don't forget that your summoner has to actually hit an enemy to use this thing. You can't just smack the ground like molten strike.

This item is very powerful, you're just too bad to hit things without getting shredded.

Edit: And shit, I just reread it. Just the bolt needs to hit to proc the aura, so no melee involved. It's even more badass.

You can potentially add an animate guard in it and get its effect.
