Game of thrones thread go! [ S8 ]

So Jon rode north with the wildling. Did he swear an oath the join the nightwatch before and rode as part of a misson for them? Or did he defect to live as one of the free folk? Did he swear at all, or refused and went north as one of the free folk? What do you think?
(\__/) This is Bunny. Copy and

(")_(") gain world Domination.
I think he got screwed over. The end.
He fucked off with the Wildlings for good. Ghost, Tormund, the Wildlings and Jon all belong North of the Wall.

There is no more nights watch, he's the "King beyond the wall" now.
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

His brother is king and his sister is queen and greywurm fucked of to die on some island.
Who or what exactly is forcing john to stay in the north?

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Jon's been an "honorable outsider" all his life and he probably had to give his word he'd live by the sentence handed down. If he did, then he's likely to follow his word. Also, given that he's essentially always been an outsider returning the to Night's Watch might not be as bad for him as it could be for many others.

I know it's nitpicking, but I believe Sansa & Bran are Jon's cousins.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
Also, one of the real issues with the ending for me, is it didn't really end. There was still potential for more story. Drogon running around, Jon still around, Bran doing bran things.

There really wasn't a conclusion. This could have easily been the ending to a previous season; not the entire series.

Tbf to the series (I have to say that cos I think it was terrible), that's about as much of an 'ending' as we were ever gonna get. Most stories end like that - the only ones that don't are ones where all the main characters die or disappear off somewhere else. Even LOTR could've continued with the adventures of Pippin & Merry, or Aragorn, or whoever. They almost always have potential for more story - that's life, it only ends when you're dead.

A good ending ties up all the plot threads of the main story arc (or sometimes leaves a few open intentionally, for speculation). S8 absolutely mangled all the plot threads, but it did tie up the abused stumps of the main ones. The way it got there was stupid, the final conclusion it left us with was dumb, but I'll give it this - it did look like an ending. Mind you, the show had far fewer threads to tie up than the books do, especially after they began cutting all the (already fewer than the books) threads in season 6 and 7.

Now we just need to wait and see what they wind up doing to Star Wars next...

Isn't Star Wars already irreparably damaged? I very much doubt it can get any worse.
