Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods felt kind of short

Well i forgot to mention that, the oathkeeper i currently play is probably my 10th character.

I started enhancing speed after having to pass base game story on 5th character, because it got old fast after having explored everything multiple times.

As for the latest expansion, i'm rushing the new character through old content just for precise reason to enjoy new expansion normally as soon as i can, and then speedruns to farm will commence again.

After having played a certain game for a certain amount of time I usually try to always power through the beginning to get to point of game that I want to do, simmilar to getting to mapping in poe. I'll stop and listen to all the voice acting and lore once, but its too much beyond that.

Only exception for me would probably be 4x games, where things are intense right from the start and game very fast turns to big slow micromanagment.
Spreading salt since 2006
Finished the new content last night. Last boss was bad but not horrendous but that second to last one (behind the portcullis) was a horror movie. Reminds me what I have against GD. Their bosses are so OP compared to PoE it is ridiculous.

All in all I like the EP though. I am now planning on playing with new class as well as some experiments with some of the mods out there that I have ignored all this time.

I'm really liking the game more and more, I'm getting to the point where I have a few sets completed or nearly so.

There's a 3 piece set, somewhat common, called Wildheart Vanguard I had several copies of, so I tried this build:

Strongest character I've tried so far...by far. Stand there and face-tank that boss. I used potions for fire, poison and lightning resists, but I think I didn't even need to use them.

Anyway, there's lots and lots of builds I want to try, I'm having a lot of fun with the game.
Reached the final part in Ultimate, with my strongest old character (and a couple respecs).

2nd to last boss is just utterly insane. I barely beat him with all possible potion buffs up and over capped resistances.

Last boss - even that didn't help.
He was ok in Elite... dodged a couple big telegraphed attacks and won... but in Ultimate everything is a big attack.
He's worse than the Malmouth final boss.
Much cooler intro to the fight compared to AoM, though.

Yeah, raincoast GD is totally dependent on getting great gear like PoE, but unlike it, there is no active trading and there is offline mode. Once you get better gear game is fun.

Yeah, John, that 2nd to last boss was something special!

I'm still not sure how to fight that guy, to be honest.
Stupidly fast attacks, movement speed and combos. Floor is lava everywhere.
Are you just supposed to face tank him? Because in Ultimate it took me probably most existing potion buffs in the game and a metric ton of leech, to take him down. and still there were a couple "oh shit" moments.

Last boss I didn't beat yet, but he feels more fair. You can dodge more.
If he catches you - even potion buffs and leech don't help.
But you are not supposed to face tank a god on the hardest difficulty.

John what kind of character are you playing? I didn't have any trouble with either using a Aether Battlemage with the Krieg set nor the build I referenced above. Both face tanked them in Ultimate. I'm normally not very good at melee, might be because I had the recommended gear. Been playing since last summer and getting some sets finally. I kind of dread trying it with my summoner or squishy builds.

On the GD forums lots of players are having trouble with him, some say if you dodge as best as you can and stay near the center hole he's easier. I haven't really figured out his mechanics given the two beefy characters I used.I'll probably get my clock cleaned trying it with my gunslinger Purifier or Summoner.

I found an item that will allow you to put it on an alter that's in earlier desert, supposed to summon a big bad super boss, everybody says that one is really tough.

I've never beat that one in Ugdenbog that's in a side area that you use dynamite to enter, have to try it with those 2 chars, my others got wiped fast.

Good gear drops seem better with this expansion.
