double corruption of a gem
|
Just buy a 20/20 gem that can turn into a vaal version and hope for a 21/20 vaal gem :) Those sell pretty well

" double corruption. +2 curses, +2 aoe, +2 duration. pick two out of 3. It's one of the rooms in the temple and can be used on any item, not just gems. I should know as i've enchanted several prism guardians already trying to get aura/duration bonuses for auras that have vaal variants (haste, disc etc). +4 bane can be on gloves, boots, armor, helmet or shield. " Ok, but why the fuck are you talking about that? OP literally asked about Doryani's Institute, which is the room strictly for corrupting gems. IGN: NoahsArChen
"Oh awesome, this guy posted his current gear. Let me find him an upgrade!" ~Said no one ever. |
|
" You are talking about the altar of corruption. A separate room from Doriani's, and you can't use the altar on gems. |

Doryani's Institute sounds like a quiver to me.
Why not just call it the "gem corruption room"? ok then, well dont waste it on empower trying to get L4, because even if you manage to get the +1 gem roll your likely to get the -1 gem roll in the same go. Have done that, not fun. |

" ...not how it works. It applies 2 of these effects at random: - nothing - +1 or -1 gem level - + or - quality - adds vaal skill (if not vaal able also does nothing) You can't get the same option twice. So no corrupt lvl 18 outcomes or nuking your quality. But also no lvl 22 gems or 26% quality*. Because it corrupts twice it increases the odds of your chance to hit +1 gem from 1 in 8 to 1 in 5. *unless potentially using gems dropped by Haku research chests - those can start over 20% quality before corruption. |

well I've done a double corruption which had no effect on the gem. That's only possible if the two rolls cancel out, unless you can roll "do nothing" twice which i dont think it can.
hm. Okay i see from what you said. Roll nothing, and also roll Vaal on a non-vaal gem. That would explain it. Last edited by Asmosis#7365 on Mar 28, 2019, 12:35:57 AM

Theres a 3rd outcome that would also look like 'nothing'.
Getting -quality on a 0 quality gem. Last edited by Thror2k5#7154 on Mar 28, 2019, 12:37:56 AM
