Path of Exile 3.6.0 will not support Windows XP or Vista
" Windows XP is still widely used in developing countries, and it's quite easy to acquire a pirated version if you're looking for that sort of thing. If you're the type that doesn't like to pay for other people's hard work, then Windows XP is the low bar to having a Windows-based computer. |

" Report both of you for being polish! Well done GGG! I hope I can find a better PC soon so I can play my favourite game again! |

What about Windols 10?

Jesus. Why you like to lie so much? At least post some proofs of your "comparison". The main thing DX11 render runs faster with shadows enabled its just async shaders compilation. It doesnt mean dx9 "runs slower" it lags in render thread. Also you forgot to post about "Xbox/PS4".

Ok, but please don't end windows 7 support until the sucessor of windows 10 shows up. I'm planning to get a new computer with the new os when it is released (and I hope that coincides with the release of DDR5 memories and its complying motherboards, so that I can kill three birds with one stone).

But will my phone handle the client?

" 1st) I want to say that at the time, I was using a fairly recent computer 2011 Lenovo with Intel HD 3000 graphics. Not ideal for gaming, but I will say it did have the ability to run Skyrim without a hitch. It had an I7 processor as well. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty awful. I 100% agree that you can't really play this game effectively without a decent graphics card b/c of random deaths due to lag. However, people essentially won't even have a trial option on the computer i.e. checking the game out and establishing if the game is good or not. i If I hadn't played this game, I probably wouldn't have selected a computer with a decent graphics card. 2) I got a new laptop last year that I made sure had a decent graphics card, Nvidia 1080 and an SSD, thank god. |

There's not much to say here beyond "Sounds like it's about time ...". Thanks for the continued updates and for caring about the 0.1% outliers by explaining to them what is coming.
Updated: As I read the comments, I'm amazed by the people who attempt to undermine the intent of this post by complaining about an item or two in a list of reasons why they believe they need to make this change. In short, if you're using Win XP or Vista, good for you. It's likely your reasons for doing so go beyond playing PoE, but that's your choice to make. If this change causes you to stop playing PoE, we'll miss you - for my part, this community has been good to me and I'll be sorry to see you go. As for GGG, based on their data and all other reasons aside, if they are spending more than 0.2% (perhaps one month on one developer's time?) of their development resources supporting DX9 / Win XP / Win Vista (not to mention associated customer support costs), that is already a good reason to consider ending support. Everything else are additional factors in the decision and I, for one, appreciate the transparency in the decision process. Last edited by Afundude#5942 on Jan 27, 2019, 8:26:44 PM
