Path of Exile 3.6.0 will not support Windows XP or Vista

Hey, Vulcan and DX12 is this day. I hope PoE 4.0 has Vulcan or DX 12.

There are new games same type coming in DX 12 or Vulcan and they look very good.

Even upcoming D4 is having it (maybe).

Microsoft don't support XP or Vista, so new PC is must to play or work.
If you can't play PoE in DX11 , get new drivers.

Shadows in the darkness (not refering to delve) are just awful. Will have to check them again...

but the very MAIN reason to keep AWAY from DX11 is the lack of a REAL fullscreen mode, and I suspect this has not changed? The 'effect' that this shitty 'emulated' fullscreen 'mode' in fact renders as a background 'image' is the main cause of the preformance loss (non-exclusive rendering *), and also making simple tasks impossible like Alt-Tab switching between the game and other applications (fullscreen or windowed **).

If this decision will stay, it seems I'm out, a bit faster than expected.

*) if you have an application running in 'real' fullscreen, the only content the gpu has to render while this (game) is 'active' is the game itself. ALL other modes of displaying makes the gpu also calculating EACH other window and screen content (even desktop and background etc) in parallel, even as 'invisible'.

**) if you Alt-Tab out of a windowed-fullscreen task, this task is just replacing the desktops background instead of minimizing the 'window'.

So, as obvious, this is less a decision about 'likeness' but shear usability.

can you elaborate on that? i'm running dx11 on windowed fullscreen and can easily click my browser on the second monitor.

there should be no difference running windowed or full fullscreen as the gpu always has to render the image on the second monitor.

...

same as running just one monitor, the gpu always has to render the active window, nothing more.

things are only different if you run windowed mode where it also renders the desktop application cause both are visible.

Ok, Im using XP pro 7... Win 10 is shit and is just the usual shit microsoft vomit each 2 or 3 years, full of security leaks and compromising your data and privacy. Where on earth have you seen that it's "faster" than XP (win 7 as the same XP core for reminding)?

So you are forcing us into buying something from an another compagny in order to play the game we have already paid and played ?

Is it "legal"?

THIS!

Thats why they must get their shit together and start supporting Linux.
So that people dont have to run multiple additional programs that cuts your PC performance and bugs the shit out.

People asking GGG to make Linux Support since YEARS, what did they do?
They make fucking X-Box and PS4 Versions with all the money we threw at them...

100% SIGN
Just another linux user here longing for some affection.

Currently running poe with a slightly off-date self-patched wine using dx11. I guess I should be fine. Also, I have read that after some wine and GGG fixes, my patch should not even be necessary.

That said, I still have very low fps and suffer from common hangs. It would be great to have native support.

you shift key seems to hang.

poe isn't a standalone game which you install, never patch and it keeps running forever.

it's an evolving and permanently updated game which includes that your hardware has to adapt.

---

besides that, using the same pc for gaming and business is a very bad idea. most games come with spyware attached that fully control your pc.

you're maybe on the safe side with poe but i wouldn't trust other games.

Ok, besides the complot theory which might or might not be true, your statement that the game keeps evolving which requires us to adapt isn't the only option. League of legends for instance is also evolving but that company (also Tencent actually) makes sure to keep it running smooth and enabling oldere pc's to run it. So it doesn't have to be like this. GGG just shows you a nice game and then adds heavier content every expansion so now we with slower setups can't run it anymore. It's a shitty move and it will cost them my support sooner than later it seems; betrayal is hardly playable for me anymore.
.... and when will a Mac version

Only addition I want to hear about is you adding an auction house already. :)

No, hopefully never.

Auctionhouse will in the end result in higher level items beeing unattainable for casuals, could see this in D3 and other games.

Should never be added, would ruin the game on mid terms ...

New player models are never coming...they would have to remodel hundreds upon hundreds of mtx and in-game items. The body of work is financially impracticable.
