here's my small contribution to the competition - the "Glacial Ruins" hideout:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFVabuSLuqU A small refuge amongst ruins based on the glacial tileset. I started the hideout with the idea that it should have efficiency in mind while still being somewhat aestethically pleasing. Got a little carried away and gave the NPCs own sections within the hideout. Hope you like it. |

The Glade
Mild RP Warning!!
She stepped out of the trees. A gentle breeze tugged playfully at her hair before brushing the surface of a moonlit pool. Here it was, a forest glade untouched by the horrors of Wraeclast. She had found her place of peace. She was home. For me, the best hideouts are ones that offer a sense of home and peace. This is what I have tried to create. Video here (hopefully this works): https://youtu.be/-rogIzRbaA8 Potato computer so frame rate when recording was an issue :) Images: (sadly they dont capture the feel of it, but here they are) Ok thanks! | |

Hi Exiles, I submitted my "The secret behind the pub" 2 weeks ago. and I thought it was not so good because nobody mentioned it, so I continued to build a new Hideout for another submission. At the time I built this, I did not know that my "The secret behind the pub" would be featured in the competition highlight.
So I spent all my master points to make something that could feature my own culture, a hideout that could show where I come from. So now I introduce to you: THE VIETNAMESE TEMPLE Traditionally, the entrances of an important buildings in vietnam, in this case, a temple, have two parallel lines of palm trees leading toward the building. There is often a gate with its shape similar to a building, made from clay brick, mortar and porcelain roof tiles, signifies that you now enter the courtyard of the temple. Inside the courtyard, often, there is a well and some surrounding buildings playing supporting role like cooking or resting places for visitors. Leading up to the temple is the stair with dragon sculptures. In this case, the Karui wood carvings work really well to replicate this feature. Around the temple, there are often showcasing of weapons and valuable objects that are gifted to the temple by worshipers. The are also stone benches, kids love to hangout there because it is peaceful Here is inside the temple. Well you may ask why it looks like western temples. Here is the explanation: our people always nationalize the a new subject that comes to our country. We make those become familiar with ourselves by adding our own cultural features to that subject. By this, that subject will be easily accepted be more people. As you can see below is a church that have architecture of an oriental temple, which you still can see the Cross on top of it. This church interior is also very western. [A part of me wanted to make the interior of this temple western because I made a Japanese temple with oriental features (Posted on page 14), so I wanted this hideout to be its counterpart. And also, the original tiles of this hideout is so beautiful and suit with western culture.] Thank you for spending your time reading! Last edited by Ultimakami#1865 on Jan 15, 2019, 12:16:06 AM
