[3.5] Occultist Vortex/Cold Snap ES/CI - Deathless and Safe Uber Elder and T16's

I'm looking for suggestions on what you all would recommend that I upgrade. I also want to know should I go looking/crafting a sceptre with minion + full life damage or is my sceptre pretty decent currently? I feel like I might be a little low on dps currently. My vortex dot dps in hideout is currently 106k.

don't worry if we say stuff like "14k es easily". Most of the time it means we play a lot or know the game very well to manage and gain currency very fast.

Your char looks good to me. Yeah you need a new weapon gloves boots and helmet but I know you already knew that! I'd update the gloves first. They are very low in ES. After try a good helmet if you can afford fossils or find some!

After you need to lvl your gems and try go get 21/20 for vortex at some point. It's kind of expensive but the boost of dps

It helped, thanks! Until OP posts an update regarding crafting, could anyone share some knowledge on what fossils to use for each gear item, for example "Gloves use Fossils X and Y, Boots use Y and Z" etc. Adding the perfect crafting base would be a bonus.

In order to craft my gloves for example I used info on PoEDB, specifically this. I am pretty sure using a Dense fossil on all the items is mandatory, wondering what the second (or third) fossil should be for the other slots.

At this time, currency wise, for me personally, the best way to upgrade my gear would be to just farm fossils and slam those onto a second crafting base, till I get something better than what I have right now.

Hey,

You need to change your sceptre ASAP! You have cold damages to spells which means Elemental Equilibirum is not going to proc. That's huge loss of damage for us.

After I'd say to change gloves and boots when you can!

For the fossils, try to use elementals fossils with the Dense fossil. After it will depends of what you need to cap your res.
For the helmet just do Dense + Frigid (To get the reduce cold res for the mobs around you).
For the boots try Dense + Shuddering for the move speed
And the gloves try to complete for your res!

Seem to have reached a plateau for gear (atleast by my standards) and am unsure about what to upgrade next. I seem to be having issues with Dex and Str requirements even tho I have taken the two large nodes for both in the skill tree. I'm finding it difficult to upgrade items like rings and neck because of the stats and also resistances. I have about 10.3k ES and 190k tooltip dot in hideout but boss DPS feels kinda low to me. What should I look into upgrading/swapping next? Don't have too much currency available, maybe 1-2ex.

How's uber Atziri? Normal Atziri dies so quickly it doesn't even have an add phase atm.

Hit 92, but I am getting a little bored with XP grind - I had so many HC characters which wore me out. Looking to do more end game bosses, so far just guardians and farming normal Atziri. I am even doing 60% regen and -12 res mods now, the only mod I don't do is zero regen if it's t14+.

Also how are you getting 3 red 1 green for cwdt+phase set-up? I gave up, closest I could get was 3 r. It's annoying because I can't link my auras with enlighten.

Also is it worth paying 1ex for a 20/21 vaaled vortex or just keep trying very slowly.

I just have 145k DoT in my hideout and I feel very comfortable. I did all the content of the game with this damage or even lower!

I'd say you need a new vaal regalia, 550+ is very low, you should aim for 700+ if you can. It will boost you up to 12k ES I think. Also the shield and the helmet needs some improvement.
You can aim for second curse or aspect of spider. This aspect is awesome is a mini temporal chain and a boost of damage. It feels very cool but kinda expensive. You can try to craft it if you have the beast for it!

I did my first Uber Atziri today, it was very smooth. I died a couple times but mostly because it was my first time and damn she hits hard!
So you will be able to do it without any doubts with this build!

For your gears I'd drop skin of the loyal for a pure ES vaal regalia but that's just my opinion. Also as I said before, try to aim for aspect of spider it's just a huge boost for us!

And yeah vortex 21/20 is totally worth it! kinda expensive but a good boost of damage overall

For the 3R1G sockets it's a pain if you are spamming chromatics, you can use this calculator to check your chances - https://siveran.github.io/calc.html but looking at your gloves then you'd need to spam 3140 chromatics to get that colour combination

The Crafting Bench is the best as we want them all off colour, if you number the sockets as follows:


1 ----> 2
| ........ |
| ........ |
4 <---- 3


Then follow these steps:

1. Craft "At least three Red Sockets" on the gear, repeat this until at least 1 and 2 are both Red. (120 chromatics per craft).. if you're lucky 1,2 and 3 will be Red and if you're really lucky you'll get 3R1G off the bat, move to Step 2 once 1 and 2 are Red though as it's costly to spam this.

2. If 3 is Red or Green then skip this step and move on as first three are already the right colour, if not then alternate crafting between "Two Sockets" (1 jeweller) and "Three Sockets" (3 jewellers) until socket 3 is either Red or Green. You do this because when you craft the two sockets then it always keeps sockets 1 and 2 and gets ride of the others and when you craft "three sockets" it keeps the colours already on 1 and 2 and just rolls 3.

3. Once you have 1, 2 and 3 set then you switch between crafting "Three sockets" (3 jewellers) and "Four Sockets" (10 jewellers) until your last socket is the right colour.

4. Finally to link them then craft "At least four linked sockets" (5 fusing)


As for the 21/20 Vortex gem then it's about 12% DPS upgrade for me looking at PoB so I would spend 1exalt on it, depends on how much currency you have though.

Bad leveling guide. Died on first kitava on hc from oneshot with max resists and basalt on. This build is a very bad leaguestarter and you really need to level only with life and then respec to the energy shield gear and nodes.

Hey, apologies if this has been asked and answered, but you do have any particular method to maintain mana with this build? I feel like I run out after a flame dash and 2 vortexes, and then it takes an eternity to regen. Do you recommend just grabbing some abyss jewels with regen on them, or do you have a different way of handling this? thanks
