[3.5] Occultist Vortex/Cold Snap ES/CI - Deathless and Safe Uber Elder and T16's

Very nice, thank you! Now to decide what to do with them :D Not actually sure yet.
this build and "how to" from the op, is great.
we can adapt us all the time for customize.

here mine pastbin: https://pastebin.com/B82PAgcc

i only 90, so miss only the 4 points for finish the "growth and decay" wheel, and it's done.
don't know yet if a would do some "adjustement"

we can have with shaper item ,
an helmet grant us " support by a lvl 20 gem hypotermia "

so we have a 5L on cold snap :)

How does this build do later on in incursion as far as unlocking rooms? It seems like having a skill that relies on melee range is a good way to both miss enemies and run out of time. Not that I'm not having fun or anything like that, still loving it.
Can someone help me craft "Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Use a Skill" on SC? :D

I have a question about "Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Use a Skill" crafting. Do i need to have veiled item to craft it in the bench, or i can craft it on any item, and if that is it suffix or prefix?
Hi,

Any plans on updating this pure awesomeness as of 3.6?
I am currious if you will proceed with the crafting section anytime soon?
I am sure this is answered somewhere, but hoping for some feedback.

Can someone explain how the EE is consistently triggered and applied correctly? I think I am just dumb, but when you cast vortex or cold snap doesn't it immediately trigger EE in the wrong direction?

Can someone please explain, step by step, how the trigger a socketed spell craft works with this build?

Thanks!

Yes, it's been answered all sorts of times, but it's a little buried so I can explain it :)

You don't want to get EE until you get the weapon that casts socketed gems when you cast a skill. This will cast frost bomb, storm brand, and orb of storms for you. You might end up with a cold EE for a split second but only the explosion of frost bomb triggers the cold version, the rapid firing orb/brand will keep it set to electric instead.

As far as vortex and cold snap, they are both dots. Cold Snap will trigger cold for a split second on impact, then it will swap to lightning again. Vortex does not trigger EE at all since it is 100% dot.

I very much appreciate the explanation. Vortex does doe flat cold damage first, then a dot, at least per the gem info on Poe wiki. But, your explanation remains solid, thanks for taking the time.
