I should mention zeels shield in my guide. I used that shield for a long time as the aoe is fun :) and its a decent shield for its price.

I've been playing Winter Orb since the start of the league but wasn't really using anyone's guide. Looking at this though, the tree is super similar to mine so probably going to adjust a bit to mirror this one. I play on xbox, so the lack of requirement to "target" things is a huge plus to this skill for me. On the downside, trading and getting high level items is difficult as the player base is low, particularly the player base who get to end game content that can generate some of the better quality drops. Low availability means 2-5x the PC prices... it's annoying, but kind of is what it is (just have to hope you drop enough items that command the same rates and are desirable... lol)

If you had to stack rank gear investments on some of the recommended items, what do you feel are the biggest "bang for the buck" items? I'm guessing Inpulsa's > pretty much everything, but amulet likely very helpful on endgame content for the extra 20% pen?

Any creative suggestions like Zeels are welcome also. going to try that out as I just happened to have one drop recently.

@drasch21 shade of solaris yields almost same dps in your pob (difference is negligible, like ~2-3k depends what I turn on), what's the point of such an investment then, apart from having some QoL things like a bit more cast speed and arcane surge on kill?

Any chance someone could give some pros and cons of Solstice Vigil vs. The Pandemonious?

Trying to justify the switch to Pandemonious due to the cost of the item.

How would this build do with 2x Void Batterys ??

Solstice Vigil is more like mapping or delve, since you need to kill rare or unique for the long duration buff to proc. Pandemonious is required when doing end game - Guardians, Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri.

Damn, this guide has really blown up, glad to see so after I visited the day it was posted. I managed to 6L my second Inpulsa this league, so I think now that I'm level 93 & bored of BV, it's time to make the switch to this.

What is the most important piece of gear to the build to get first? I have Inpulsa, so would it be the ammy, +2 winter orb stages helm or the warlord's ring? I have mark of the shaper that I'm saving until I get a warlord's mark ring, as BV uses the same ring setup.

Lastly, how long can the Solaris wands last & carry me for? Can you do T16, etc with them no problem? I don't expect to be able to do Uber Elder with them.

I did all t16 no problem with Solaris.
People have done Uber Elder both with 1 and 2 Solaris setup.

Are most people running wand & shield, or dual wands?

Also, wow price of items has shot way up since the guide first came out. I guess that's what I get for not getting in at the beginning.
