The MS nerf doesn't seem that terrible. The balls losing damage is the bad thing. People are misreading the split balls because all melee skills have a built in cleave now they arent going to make double the balls if you hit two. Also with the new 3x bigger range, having to hit something to make balls isnt a big deal.

The ball damage nerf is the worst part but I suspect wont be so terrible in practice.
Nerf: Molten Strike
Now deals base damage equal to, and has an added damage effectiveness of, 120% at gem level 1 (unchanged), up to 130% at gem level 20 (from 160%).
Now adds 2 to 3 fire damage to attacks at gem level 1, up to 75 to 113 at gem level 20.
Now requires that you hit an enemy in order to produce projectiles, and splits the number of projectiles it produces evenly among all targets (if it can).
Projectiles now deal 50% less damage at all levels (from 40% less at gem level 1, to 30% less at gem level 20 previously).
Damage over time from projectiles now deals 50% less damage at all levels (from 40% less at gem level 1, to 30% less at gem level 20 previously).
Now has +2 to melee range at gem level 1 (from 0), up to +6 at gem level 20 (from +2).

Isn't it buff?

Dude you are giving me hope. I was gonna start 3.7 with MS Jugg.
To address

We cannot use the "Attack move on ground" and generate balls, so it will be impossible to overlap with your own attack + shadow attack, because I simple do not think you will hit with a claw with +6 range. It remains untested however.

The added damage effectiveness is cut by 30% and afterwards the ball damage is cut with 20%. This will make the ball effective damage go from 112% (1.6*0.7) to 65% (1.3*0.5) effectively cutting the damage from molten strike balls in half.

The local added fire helps a bit sure, and I cannot say how much it will help without using PoB, but the build is stacking mainly lightning damage and have more lightning pen than fire pen, but the local added fire helps much more on a life based molten strike build, where you are also able to stack life on hit instead of leech.

just forget about molten strike even exists now

reave or maybe cleave (coz of added phys damage and free fortify from threshold jewel) + blade flurry for bossing again

Keep in mind that the Molten Strike jewel that is used have to high effective damage and projectile damage, look this picture.




Thus you need to halve the damage approximately.

I've set to shaper/elder because I want to use lightning penetration support replacing the ancestral call on bosses, thus you need to get a white socket from vorici.

ps: I crippled boots, helmet and shield, so they are 20% quality and subtracted 50% ES if I rolled dense mod on suffix.

Primeval force cost 8 points for 13% more dmg. For the same investment, you get the same dmg buff and an extra jewel sock by taking Divine Judgment and the jewel sock in Shadow area (or you can get the one near Point blank, or in top left corner between Templar and Witch area for 3 points).

Lol i always forget to pick EO.

Well I guess the dps is still good then, because they added a clusterfuck of intelligence in the north side of the tree.

You need to spent 2 points on mana leech if you dont path to primeval, but path to the jewel socket.
