But if you take a look at my video against the Shaper, and then at the gear I have, it didn't take that next level of gear to beat him easily.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but that's what I have for you. Sorry. Minion builds are unique this way, unless you're planning your minions around The Baron helmet, the Necromantic Aegis node, or something that specific, there aren't any insanely good uniques besides the weapon you already have.

Yeah I guess it boils down to what I want to do with this character. I'd be content to farm t14-16 maps minus the guardians efficiently and to push myself in delving since I only started near the end of the delve league. Right now I feel this char is already good enough for that. My atlas completion reached 150% today, and I did the 3 shaper guardians (-minotaur ofc), died once to the phoenix, and the 4 elder guardians in t12-14 maps deathless, inc. Eradicator this time. Overall T15-16 clear speed is also pretty good so overall I'm happy :D The guardians also dropped a few nice items, such as the phoenix sword, so that's more currency in my bag.

I'm only delving at 170 but it was more due to the time gate, so now with better sulphite acquisition from higher maps the situation will obviously improve.

On high end crafting, I think Standard is gimped pretty bad in this regard with a lot of good craft recipes missing. I did find this elder item today though which looks interesting, since our Fortify gem happens to be in the boots, and 20% quality on the Fortify gem only improves duration by 10%, so this opens up another gem slot for experimenting. It looks like Enfeeble will also receive extra 60% duration from the lv15 IDS. I'm not wearing this at the moment though, since losing 30% movement speed from my current boots is pretty bad on harder high mobility boss fights such as Hydra. I guess it could be useful in delve because of the level/encounter design there.

Thanks for the comments!

Also it took me until today, 2 month since I started playing, to discover that, I can just hover the mouse over specific enemies to guide/direct the zombies to attack a particular mob/group. XD

Hi WoD (can I say "WoD's up?"?)

I noticed from your posts that your play style seems to be shifting a little more towards using the skellies for offence. Have you put any thought into making the skeletons the 6-link on the one-handed build? I have made the switch to skeletons and I find it much better than a few spectres, particularly using Vaal Skeleton with my Queen's Escape equipped. (I don't have the currency or Delve Depth to craft a six link on a unique, nor the intestinal fortitude to free style it with fuses - thus I am playing a 6z/4s rather than a 6z/6s. But I am wondering if I might try switching up to 6s/4z.) This build has so many great possibilities; thanks again for your guide.
Ha ha ha. Ya, you can call me WoD :). Funny. WoD up.

That thought crosses my mind often. But, let's say I make this build a Skeleton only build. I'd lose a lot of the ease of play. I'd lose the defensive aspect of the game too. Zombies will always follow me once I've Charged Dashed into enemies, and the damage is always right behind me. And the Zombie Slam clear speed is superior to Skeletons' single target hits. So, this build can do 98% of the Atlas without Skeletons. So, since I have to consider my symptoms, Zombies are still the best bet to 5/6 link on the one-handed build. If I 6 linked skeletons, I'd feel like I need to use them often and it'd take away from how relaxing and helpful the current setup is for my symptoms and such.

So, to paraphrase, I don't see ME making the switch, but it's not a bad idea for anyone else to do! It's a good idea! I'd be curious to see if the Zombie 4 link would be just as efficient with Zombies-Minion Damage-Minion Speed-Melee Physical.

Good post and thanks so much for your kind words.

Hey guys, I did this because it seemed OP, by T14 I switched back, like WoD says (nice name change BTW) I need my zombies! They start dying fast if left in a 4 socket, and to be honest, the skeletons rarely die and when they do it's probably time to drop some more anyways!
Been loving the build and glad I choose level 92 as my cap, because I am exploring completely new content and doubt I will ever see 93. But I don't mind dying, and I need to explore endgame. Had 2 gaurdian fights, finally beat Chimera on a Vaal'd map! Fought the phoenix poorly lol. maps seem to rain down, I have quite a few 11s that I run to get things going again when it gets slow, usually hit a Niko and then go delve a bit so things keep me busy. I picked up that United in Dream because honestly my weapon was trash and I LOVE IT! but it cost me 1ex 50c and 20Vaals, but I got the 40% minion damage so I am happy and really Why collect loot if you ain't gonna spend it!
One last thing my buddy noticed in Delve, if you let skeletons die off BEFORE hitting Vaal skeletons, you get 40, then you can redrop skeletons, gets me to 51 for boss fights!
Sorry I clipped the whole thing, wasn't sure what to cut out or leave in:)
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...

Great job on the center of the Atlas!

I totally agree that Standard crafting sucks in 3.5. A lot of basic crafting mods are unlocked via Betrayal and that is really dumb. Can't craft Chaos resist in Standard? Crazy.

Good comments! Thanks!

Hey!

I'm really glad you're seeing new content and getting used to the bosses in the center of the map! I'm happy to hear it :). Ya, I think there is a bug with how Vaal Skeletons counts. It shouldn't be counting the normal skeletons in it's count, and it never seems to hit the possible cap. But it's a good observation that you can cast the normal skeletons afterwards.

I'm glad you're having a great time! Thanks for all your posts! :)

WoD... I am having a GREAT time!
Your build is excellent and has made me want to pursue your RF build.
Maybe next league...
I have been tweaking this build a bit because I really want to max damage but have been shying away from CD in favor of skeletons. So last night I dropped EE because I think it is hurting my play style, I really like building walls with skeletons and do not CD as much as I should (chicken). So I filled out the left circle of the tree with all the minion goodies.
My slam is 64k and my skeletons are 96k.
Now is each skeleton in Vaal mode 96k? I see the casters and archers are weak, but the army would still put up like 3-4millionDPS!
I also am rethinking skeletons in the 6link, maybe a swap before boss fights, especially since I KNOW my zombies will be dead in 2 seconds either way...

You're mission is well accomplished here my friend, you have me thinking and learning and this is the first real guide that has actually "Guided" me.

Thank you sooo much!
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.

I did what others in this thread have discussed, namely, swapping the skeleton and zombie gems, in content that's trivial to my current power level where the zombies are unlikely to die. So basically everything below T14, or T12-13 with really bad mods. With my triple-ES protection on minions the zombies are still pretty tanky, and with the Bone Master ascendancy the skellies already did more dmg on the 4link helmet than my zombies. After the swap I can confirm that boss dps shot up by a large margin.

I love how relaxing running uber lab is with this build :) I don't even have to target anything, just run Lola run to save time. Basically one shotting everything, each Izaro phase lasts 1 second then it's over. Just do the annoying traps and run through the areas asap. Although since nothing other than the lab enchant is remotely worthy it does get a bit tedious in my rush to find the exit to the next area.

On the other hand, I ran a T11 today with elemental weakness, monster always ignites, and 94% extra cold dmg mods. What happened there was, I had Alva spawn on the map, went in an incursion, and got one shotted instantly with reduced ele resist /facepalm.

So I guess I'll be running the normal 6 link zombie setup only in T13-15 maps. T16 map clearing should also be ok with 4L zombies, and then I'll switch before the guardians since the zombies will die to anyone sans Chimera very fast anyway.

Did a red map elder today, got the Impresence amulet (the fire version). I love my elder/guardian drops so far! The fire version seemed to be much more sought after than the rest and I just sold it for 3ex, biggest sale yet :D

Hey there again, mate! ^^

So, my Betrayal season Slow Mo Zombie Witch who goes by the name of "Kirsi Vitale" ('Kirsi' = 'frost' in Finnish; 'Vitale' = 'of life'/'vital' from Latin) is now a solid level 43 necromancer and so far I'm having ridiculously much fun leveling her!

It was a bit tricky to get her enough dexterity in order to finally be able to use the chargd dash and I'm still trying to find good items that don't add any cold damage (since the build requires it) but apart from that I really love this build and am looking forward to making it to the end game!

Just thought I'd let you know. Cheers and have a nice weekend! :)

Sweet changes! I'm glad they are working for you! It's fun when you make something your own and it works well. Good job! I'm thinking of tweaking the 1 handed version for 3.6 and excluding a 2 handed version. But it'll include Charged Dash and EE ;).

And thank you very much for such great compliments. I'm glad you're having fun, thinking, and learning. I have received a lot of good suggestions for improving the guide and am excited to post 3.6's version (of course pending patch notes). It's wonderful to hear that people are learning PoE, not just my build itself. Thank you very much for such a kind post :).

It's fun to have the space and items to experiment with stuff. You sound like you're rolling in dough! Good stuff! Goog job doing the Red Elder! Gem swapping isn't my thing. I'd forget all the time, but you have a good strategy swapping the Skeletons and Zombies! Great idea! Imagine getting some Elder gear that had Minion Life and Damage as mods :)! Thanks for the post! I'm glad you find it as relaxing as I do.
