How Atlas Objectives Work

So we'll need to buy 20+ chaos maps to do master missions now?

That seems a bit... off-putting...

I have a level 100 and one every other character class above level 95, and when running red maps it's about every 3 maps that I find another red map. I'd like to think I am "comfortably middle class" in PoE - not poor, not rich, but just the cost of trying to buy these daily master missions would eat all the money I make from chaos recipes - I expect I'd burn through that in about a month. Best case, I won't be able to afford gear upgrades, all my income will be going to maps.

Seems a bit harsh of a cash sink.

I would advise that there are lots of us out here who still put in considerable time, but due to things like families or wanting to play more interesting, less bleeding edge power-curve builds, are going to end up locked out of significant chunks of content. In my specific case, it will be a cash-wall I don't know if I can overcome.

I've been saving up for a year to afford a build that can take out uber elder so I can actually beat path of exile. But I am worried that having to buy expensive maps for my master missions is going to drain all the money I've been saving to afford the build and the many many many many many attempts it is going to take me to learn the mechanics of the battle.

I'm not a god-tier player who sinks 100 hours a week in PoE, but I do play about 20-25, which is a lot for a Salaryman. Most of my money comes from chaos recipes and my 6-links come mostly from 20 fusing orbs a day from Vorici.

I also won't really talk about how wretched it is trying to buy maps from people. It really is an awful experience having to message 15039 different people trying to buy a map. Being forced to do this every day, for 5 maps, which appear to be expensive is a lot to ask of a guy who is slowly build up the many exalts it's going to take to try to beat the game.

Very disheartening.

In addition to encountering masters randomly and having Atlas Objectives appear each day, the Atlas Objectives also have a chance to be generated when you complete a map. Note, if an Atlas Objective is added for a specific Master and you still have an uncompleted one for that Master on your Atlas, then the existing one is moved to the new location

They've thought of that.

This Atlas Objectives system is designed to reward both players who consistently play every day, but also players who just play a lot of Path of Exile.
Thanks GGG, we no-lifers appreciate how you support the core playerbase ^^

So you will miss master dailies then? That's not exactly a win in my opinion.

I actually do master missions every day, even when they are eight - they discounted currency items they sell is a significant amount of my income. And all of the best flasks, with the exception of Dying Sun came from masters selling them.

How about making these Objectives just clickable on the Atlas and we get a free map to run with no investment required and isn't affected by any of the aforementioned mechanics? Just 5 free maps daily with those map tilesets?

Content without investment? This will never gonna happen in PoE
In order to get rid of clearspeed meta cap global movement speed at 100% but make all skills instant so everything feels great.

We had it before with the old masters :(
Just giving players easy content (like Diablo 3 does) means the servers are empty in a week.

If you're not pulling a crapload of maps out of Labs, Incursion map rooms, map rooms in Delve, and selling your lower-tier maps for higher ones, then it's no wonder you constantly run out.
