Announcing Private Leagues
Sounds fun, viewers who are interactive with streamers etc. could potentially have a really good time with interesting combinations.
Thanks for the update! |

" if you're able to customize your private leagues to use completely different mechanics than the league that's currently going on, that's where the real dangers of community fragmentation are. you'll immediately have a large amount of players create/join breach private leagues, and each one will have different mods. maybe you want to play just breach, maybe you want to try breach but with a resistance reduction. and maybe you create/join a breach private league with mods that you thought you might like, but end up hating. you can't change the mods after the private league has been created, which introduces a real chance at buyer's remorse. and this is just a single league modifier. also, what happens after this league ends? your characters would need to be voided, because having them transfer over to a standard league would destroy it's economy. |

interesting. i don't know what i was expecting with the 3 announcements, but this wasn't it.

Congratulations GGG for finally implementing private leagues as some of us have been waiting a long time for this.
It'll be interesting to create one within my HC guild either at the start of a new league or when interest has worn off over a league "offseason". Anyway, put me in the camp of there not being enough hardcore, make it even harder, type mods. Please don't ever add anything that makes the game easier - that's what Standard and Softcore League is for. +100 for Cutthroat mode or being able to create standalone Battle Royale (perhaps at a cheaper price). Can we add any past league mods?

" a vast majority of players don't want to pay real money to play a harder version of the league. the novelty will never wear off, because this idea is inherently novel. you pay for permanent map mods for a limited amount of time for a limited amount of players, and the announcement says "this presents no fairness issues to the economies that they are moving their characters into," which seems to imply that there will be no increased item drop rates. playing in a private league gives your character no benefit whatsoever, there's no real incentive to play in a private league. and with regards to hardcore, I think that part of the community might actually be affected the least. it's incredibly frustrating to die in hardcore, so if you're thinking about joining/creating a private server, you need to pick your mods even more carefully than sc. remember, these mods affect not just end-game, but the entire leveling experience as well, and they can't be changed once they're selected. so what happens if you pick a combination of mod that ends up too nasty? you get to waste countless hours trying to get your character past a5. and if you pick an underwhelming combination of mods? then what the fuck was the point in spending money in the first place? I really do think that no matter what angle you look at this, it won't be an issue at all. |

I would pay for this just to have BLAMT for 10 days because I love that race! Legit it felt more like a tactical ARPG during the ones I participated in and the tension on it is so hecking fun!

There are some people that didn't understand what these private leagues are.
They are EXACTLY the same as the current league, but harder. So, there is no problem at all in moving the character, all gear and all currency to the parent league. All the items will just have a lower value in the parent league, so, the economy will not be affected at all because people coming from a private league won't want to sell items for lower prices easily, so after a private league ends, the migration will not affect the parent league economy at all, unless in extremely rare cases. The private leagues were designed the way they were, to be 100% in harmony with the parent league. So, after the private league ends, you just continue the progress normally in the parent league. Private leagues can't have other leagues mods, unless they could be void leagues, otherwise they could give a VERY big advantage to the private league players when migrating to parent league. There is no option. I don't think you pay for servers. The private league is EXACTLY the same as the parent league, but with some mods that make the private league harder, so, the exact same server can handle it very easily the same way it handles the parent league. You pay a little bit if you want to have a league with some mods that you choose. That's all. And a private league is NOT the new league. It is just a PLUS. The new league will be announced yet. I see a lot of comments from people that didn't read the Original Post completely. So many nonsense comments. “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
